Vinton County High School is a public high school in Elk Township, just outside the village limits of McArthur, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Vinton County Local School District. Athletic teams are known as the Vikings.

Vinton County High School was formed after all of the other schools consolidated into one high school.

Athletics

The Vikings belong to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Tri-Valley Conference, a 16-member athletic conference located in southeastern Ohio. The conference is divided into two divisions based on school size. The Ohio Division features the larger schools, including Vinton County, and the Hocking Division features the smaller schools.

Bridgeport High School is a public high school in Bridgeport, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District. Bridgeport plays in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. Their mascot is the Bulldog and the school colors are Columbia blue, black, and white. The school moved to its current location at 55707 Industrial Dr. in January 2007. The new school complex houses all Pre-K - 12 students.

River Valley High School is a public high school near Bidwell, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is one of two high schools in the Gallia County Local School District, the other school being South Gallia High School. Their nickname is the Raiders. The school has been rated "Excellent" two years in a row on the state report card making it one of the highest ranked schools within several counties. In August 2009 the current RVHS facility was officially opened, taking the place of the previous RVHS located in nearby Cheshire. The new location places River Valley High School just a short distance from its main feeder school, River Valley Middle School. The 2009–10 school year was the first to take place in the new building, with the Class of 2010 being the first class to graduate, and the Class of 2013 being the first to complete all four years of their secondary education at the new building.

South Gallia High School is a public high school in Mercerville, Ohio United States. Because Mercerville does not have its own US Post Office, its mailing address is considered Crown City, despite being 7 miles north of Crown City. It is one of two high schools in the Gallia County Local School District, the other school being River Valley High School. The South Gallia nickname is the Rebels. South Gallia School colors are Red, Gold, and White. The school opened in 1996 after a de-consolidation. The building is located next to the site of the old Hannan Trace High School. South Gallia is a combination of two elementary schools known as Hannan Trace and Southwestern, although Southwestern is a split school between South Gallia and River Valley. South Gallia has around 200 students enrolled. South Gallia has also achieved some of the highest OGT scores in Ohio. South Gallia High School's current principal is Bray M. Shamblin. Previous principals include Tim Scarberry and Scot West.

The Metro Athletic Conference is an association of eight high schools and their associated middle/junior high schools located in the northeast region of the U.S. state of Ohio. Four member schools are in Summit County, three are in Portage County, and one in Medina. The league was formed in 2019 and began competition in 2020, comprising all eight members of the former Portage Trail Conference Metro Division. The initial opening of conference play for many sports was put in jeopardy from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with golf being the only sport to begin interscholastic at the outset in early August 2020. Later in Augustupdate it was announced by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine that all sports were allowed to compete under special guidelines outlined by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).
