Virginia's 8th House of Delegates district is one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 8 consists of Roanoke, Salem, Montgomery County, and Craig County. It has been represented by Republican Joseph McNamara, and previously by Greg Habeeb from 2012 until his resignation in August 2018. [1] In 2017, he won against Democrat Steve McBride. [2] [3]

Timothy Douglas Hugo is an American businessman, military veteran, and Republican politician in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2003 to 2020, representing the 40th district. Hugo was defeated in the 2019 election by Democrat Dan Helmer.
William Harrison "Bill" Cleaveland is an American politician and jurist. He was a Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates 2010–2012, representing the 17th district, which included parts of Botetourt and Roanoke Counties and the city of Roanoke in the western part of the state. On January 30, 2013, he was sworn in as a judge of the General District Court of Botetourt and Craig Counties.
Gregory D. Habeeb is a lawyer and American politician in Southwest Virginia. Habeeb, a conservative Republican, and was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 8th district, which includes the City of Salem, Craig County, and parts of Roanoke and Montgomery Counties from January 2011 to August 31, 2018.

After a recount, the result of the election in the 94th district was called a tie. The candidate to hold the seat was determined by random drawing on January 4, 2018, which resulted in the Republicans holding a 51–49 majority.
