Vivasaayi (Tamil : விவசாயிEnglish: Farmer), is a 1967 Indian Tamil directed by M. A. Thirumugam, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role, with K. R. Vijaya, M. N. Nambiar, S. A. Asokan, Nagesh and Manorama among others enacting supporting roles.

Tamil language language

Tamil is a Dravidian language predominantly spoken by the Tamil people of India and Sri Lanka, and by the Tamil diaspora, Sri Lankan Moors, Douglas, and Chindians. Tamil is an official language of two countries: Sri Lanka and Singapore and official language of the Indian state Tamil Nadu. It has official status in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the Indian Union Territory of Puducherry. It is used as one of the languages of education in Malaysia, along with English, Malay and Mandarin. Tamil is spoken by significant minorities in the four other South Indian states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India.

Tamil cinema India based Tamil language film industry

Tamil cinema refers to Tamil-language motion pictures, which are primarily made in India. Based in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the hub of the Tamil film industry is in the Kodambakkam neighbourhood of Chennai. Kollywood is a colloquial term for this industry, the word being a portmanteau of Kodambakkam and Hollywood.

Sandow M.M.A.Chinnappa Devar's main intention to produce this movie was to encourage MGR's recovery from the MGR's shooting incident, on 12 January 1967. Sandow M.M.A.Chinnappa Devar paid the advance for the movie at the hospital during his first visit to see MGR. When MGR recovered and after completing ARASA KATTALAI & KAAVALKAARAN he immediately started this project and completed it within months. Remember MGR's speech therapy (for the vocal cord damage) wasn't complete at the time.

"Sandow"Marudur Marudachalamurthy Ayyavoo Chinnappa Devar was an eminent producer of Tamil films in the mid-1950s through the 1960s and 1970s. He is best known for his films featuring animals, and has produced numerous movies with M. G. Ramachandran as lead actor.

Somewhere in the Tamil country, in one of its vast green campaigns...

Muthaiya (MGR), a young agronomist and a farmer, full of ingenuity, a high integrity, a worker and a pride of his parents, the rich big landowner, The Pannaiyar Duraiswamy (Major Sundarrajan) and of his wife, devoted Sivagami (S. N. Lakshmi), revolutionize the exploitation of his father, by applying new methods of sowings.

S. N. Lakshmi actress

Sennalkudi Narayana Lakshmi, who worked under the screen name S N Lakshmi, was an Indian film actress, who appeared in supporting roles, often playing roles of a mother or grandmother in films. A recipient of the state government's Kalaimamani and Kalaiselvam awards, Lakshmi acted in more than 1,500 films and 6,000 dramas.

He (MGR) so hopes to multiply tenfold the yield for humanitarian purposes and not necessarily or only lucrative.

Because one day, he takes the defense of unfortunate farmers despoiled of their ground, by his neighbor, another big farmer, The Pannaiyar Velupandhiyan (M. N. Nambiar), a being without scruples, Muthaiya incurs the wrath of this very vindictive character.

M. N. Nambiar Indian actor

Manjeri Narayanan Nambiar, was an Indian actor in Tamil cinema who dominated the industry in the role of villain for around 50 years. Also known as Nambiar swami or Maha Guruswami, he was also a spiritual leader who pioneered the movement of taking pilgrims to Sabarimala.

The situation complicates when very attractive Vidjaya (K. R. Vijaya) falls in love with the beautiful Muthaiya.

K. R. Vijaya is an Indian actress who has starred predominantly in Tamil, besides acting in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. She started her career in the 1960s. She has been acting for more than six decades now in South Indian cinema. K. R. Vijaya has worked with almost all the stalwarts of South Indian cinema and has played a variety of roles. Acting in multiple film industries for about 500 movies, such as, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.

Indeed, she (K. R. Vijaya) is to be the sister-in-law of Velupandhiyan. And that the latter desired her ardently under the nose of his wife, very believer Kaveri (C. R. Vijayakumari).

To see her taking off between the fingers, makes him (M. N. Nambiar) particularly dangerous and obnoxious with his wife, Kaveri.

Now, Muthaiya is even more in danger, Velupandhiyan wants to kill him...
