The Weather Channel (TWC) is an American pay television channel owned by Weather Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Allen Media Group. The channel's headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia. Launched on May 2, 1982, the channel broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news and analysis, along with documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather. A sister network, Weatherscan, was a digital cable and satellite service that offered 24-hour automated local forecasts and radar imagery. Weatherscan was officially shut down on December 12, 2022. The Weather Channel also produces outsourced weathercasts, notably for CBS News and RFD-TV.
Stephanie Abrams is an American television meteorologist who has worked for The Weather Channel (TWC) since 2003. She currently co-hosts AMHQ with Jen Carfagno and Jim Cantore early weekday mornings. She is also employed by NBC News and occasionally appears on NBC Nightly News, Today and MSNBC.
Jennifer Lopez is an American on-camera meteorologist for WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia and The Weather Channel. She began her career in 1997 at WTLV-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, and joined The Weather Channel in 2000. She stayed there until 2008, while she started working at KXAS-TV in Dallas, Texas. She left KXAS-TV in 2012. She rejoined The Weather Channel in April 2013.
Good Day New York is a morning show airing on WNYW Fox 5, hosted by Rosanna Scotto and Curt Menefee. She previously served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and assigned to the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, as an aerial reconnaissance weather officer. She worked at the Weather Channel from 2004 to 2011 and with Al Jazeera America from 2013 to 2016. After some time as a freelance meteorologist at CBS News, she returned home to Minnesota to become a meteorologist for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul starting in June 2017.
