The Vojvodina's Party (Serbian : Војвођанска партија, romanized: Vojvođanska partija, IPA: [vǒjvodʑanskaːpǎrtija] ; VP) was a political party in Serbia that operates shortly in Vojvodina, province of Republic Of Serbia

Party platform

The party advocates the federalization of Serbia, and Vojvodina as a republic within a common state with Serbia. The current president of the Vojvodina Party is former member of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Aleksandar Odžić. [1]

History

The party was formed in 2005. by unifying several democratic autonomist political organizations and movements in Vojvodina (Vojvodinian Civic Movement, Vojvodinian Movement, and Autonomous Movement of Vojvodina), as well as a group of former members of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, gathered around Igor Kurjački.

According to new Law on Political Parties, from 2009, instead of the previous minimum of 100 signatures of adult citizens and a symbolic fee for registering a political party, stipulated a minimum of 10,000 certified signatures of adult citizens in order to register a political party. Existing political parties were given the opportunity to re-register in the Register within 6 months. This reduced the number of registered political parties from the previously registered 575 to just over 100 political parties. [2]

In late 2023, Vojvodina's Party permitted the Civic Democratic Party (GDP) to take over its official party registration. [3] It is not clear if the VP still exists as a separate organization. The Vojvodina Party is not registered in the Register of Political Parties by the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government. [4]
