General information

Volcano Entertainment has released much of its own material, however, it is also responsible for reissuing releases by Zoo Entertainment (its predecessor), Capricorn Records and Scotti Bros. Records.

The Release Date column is reserved for the date which Volcano released their branded version of the release, not the original release date.

The Original Label and Original Release Date columns are for the information on the release that Volcano has reissued.

In some cases (notably with Scotti. Bros reissues), Volcano has reissued something that was already reissued or remastered. In those cases, both dates are put in the "Original Release Date" column.

Original Label key

For the Original Label column, the following short-forms are used for the labels in the chart below. Any other labels are mentioned in whole.

Label NameCode
Scotti Bros. Records SBR
Street Life Records (Scotti Bros. sublabel)SLR
Zoo Entertainment ZE
Stress Entertainment (Zoo sublabel)SE
Capricorn Records CR

Catalog Number Scheme

Initially, Volcano releases had the catalog number prefix 61422-3XXXX-X where the first 4 Xs are the unique number identifying the release and the last X designates the format. Thus, different formats have the same first four Xs with a distinguishing number at the end. However, there are some cases where different formats have altogether different catalog numbers.

Volcano began using BMG's consolidated 82876-XXXXX-X system along with many of Zomba's other sublabels following the Zomba Media Group's sale to that company.

This is the discography of Apple Records, a record label formed by the Beatles in 1968. During its early years, the label enjoyed a fair degree of commercial success, most notably with Mary Hopkin and Badfinger, as well as discovering acts such as James Taylor and Billy Preston who would go on to greater success with other labels. However, by the mid-1970s, Apple had become little more than an outlet for the Beatles' solo recordings. After EMI's contract with the Beatles ended in 1976, the Apple label was finally wound up. The label was reactivated in the 1990s with many of the original Apple albums being reissued on compact disc, and the company now oversees new Beatles releases such as the Anthology and 1 albums as well as the 2009 Beatles remastering programme. In 2010, Apple set about remastering and reissuing its back catalogue for a second time.

Twelve-inch single Type of vinyl phonograph record

The twelve-inch single is a type of vinyl gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a "single" or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs which have several songs on each side. It is named for its 12-inch (300 mm) diameter that was intended for LPs. This technical adaptation allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the mastering engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality. This record type, which is claimed to have been accidentally discovered by Tom Moulton, is commonly used in disco and dance music genres, where DJs use them to play in clubs. They are played at either 33+13 or 45 rpm. The conventional 7-inch single usually holds three or four minutes of music at full volume. The 12-inch LP sacrifices volume for extended playing time.

Wonderland (Erasure album) 1986 studio album by Erasure

Wonderland is the debut studio album by English synth-pop duo Erasure, released on 1 May 1986 by Sire Records in the United States and on 2 June 1986 by Mute Records in the United Kingdom and Germany. Not an immediate success, the three singles released from it failed to crack the top 40 in the UK. "Who Needs Love Like That" would eventually make the UK top 10 in 1992, and "Oh L'amour" reached the UK top 20 in 2003, both in remixed form promoting their Pop! The First 20 Hits and Hits! compilations respectively. However, the album fared better in both Germany and Sweden, where it charted within the top 20.

Anthem Records discography

A sampler or promotional compilation is a type of compilation album generally offered at a reduced price to showcase an artist or a selection of artists signed to a particular record label. The format became popular in the late 1960s as record labels sought to promote artists whose works were primarily available in album rather than single format, and therefore had little opportunity to gain exposure through singles-dominated radio airplay. Most samplers showcased already-released material, so that as they sampled artists they also sampled the albums from which their tracks were drawn. The term 'album sampler' is also used in cases where an album is distributed among multiple records in case of, for example, vinyl where the maximum play time is less than the length of the full album. In these cases, album sampler titles may be added to each vinyl.
