She won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games.

Vivian Isabel Baella Guevara is a Peruvian indoor volleyball and beach volleyball player who plays for the Peru national team. Vivian gained fame after her performance in the 2008 Youth South American Volleyball Championship.

Brazil competed in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada from July 10 to 26, 2015. The Brazilian Olympic Committee selected a team of 590 athletes, 314 men and 276 women. This is the 17th appearance of the country in the Pan American Games. The goal of the Brazilian Olympic Committee is to finish among top 3 countries on total medals, as part of preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro, and to surpass the number of medals of Guadalajara (141). Women's field hockey, baseball, racquetball and speed skating competitions will be the only sports without Brazilian representation at these games.

Karen Cope Charles is a beach volleyball and volleyball player from Costa Rica who played the 2006 and 2010 FIVB indoor World Championships and the 2015 World Championships and the 2016 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball.

Winifer María Fernández Pérez is a Dominican female volleyball player. With her club Mirador she competed at the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship. She became well known after a video and later some photos of her playing and training, and personal photos of her--some of them fake--went viral in July 2016.

The 2016 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 15th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 2 July to 10 July. Twelve teams competed in the tournament, won by the Dominican Republic when they defeated 3-2 to Puerto Rico. The United States claimed the bronze medal and Dominican Republic athlete Brayelin Martínez was awarded Most Valuable Player.
