The 2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 24th edition of the tournament, played from 5 to 10 October 2015 in Córdoba, Mexico. The top 4 teams who had not yet qualified from the 2016 Summer Olympics automatically qualified to the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier.
The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the twentieth staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF). The tournament was held in Tehran, Iran from 13 to 21 September 2019.
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship was the nineteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship, contested by the men's national teams under the age of 21 of the members of the FIVB, the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held in Brno and České Budějovice, Czech Republic from 23 June to 2 July 2017. 16 teams participated.

The 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2018 AVC Cup for Men was the sixth edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association (CTVA). The tournament was held at University of Taipei Gymnasium, Taipei, Taiwan from 8 to 15 August 2018.
The 2019 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference was the fourteenth conference of the Spikers' Turf. The tournament began on August 20, 2019 with a total of 24 teams. San Beda replaced PNP, which was forced to withdraw from the competition after failing to secure permission from their superior officers.
The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 15th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Tokyo, Japan from 24 July to 7 August 2021. It was originally scheduled to take place from 25 July to 8 August 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee announced on 24 March 2020 that the 2020 Summer Olympics would be delayed to 2021. Because of this pandemic, all matches were played behind closed doors.
The women's tournament in volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 15th edition of the event at an Olympic Games, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. The tournament was held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 18 to 26 April 2019. The champions qualified for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship.

For the second time, the EuroVolley was held in four countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland. The number of national teams that participated in the event remained to 24.

The tournament was held in Mostazal, Santiago and Temuco, Chile from 10 to 14 September 2019. The top four teams which had not yet qualified to the 2020 Summer Olympics qualified for the 2020 South American Olympic Qualification Tournament.
The Asian Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was a volleyball tournament for men's national teams held in Jiangmen, China from 7 to 12 January 2020. 8 teams played in the tournament and the winners Iran qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The 2020 Women's African Olympic Qualification Tournament was a volleyball tournament for women's national teams held in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 5 to 9 January 2020. Five teams played in the tournament, where the winner qualified for the 2020 women's Olympic volleyball tournament.

The 2023 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 33rd edition of the Women's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. For the third consecutive time, it was held in four countries: Belgium, Estonia, Germany and Italy. The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship as the CEV representative, except Serbia who had already qualified as the defending world champions.
The women's volleyball at the 2021 Summer World University Games in Chengdu was played between July 30 and August 6. 12 volleyball teams will participate in the tournament. The indoor volleyball competition will take place at PalaCoscioni in Guanghua Campus Gymnasium, Xipu Campus Gymnasium, Xihua University Gymnasium and Chengdu University Gymnasium.
