The United States of America (USA) competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 545 competitors, 355 men and 190 women, took part in 248 events in 28 sports. At the closing ceremony, a segment of American culture was performed, as the country hosted the next Olympics in Atlanta.
Australia competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Australian athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era. 279 competitors, 187 men and 92 women, took part in 153 events in 25 sports.
Brazil competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. 225 athletes – 159 men, 66 women – competed in 18 sports. The country set a record with both 15 medals – only surpassed in 2008 – and 3 golds – surpassed in 2004 with five.
The 2008–09 Coppa Italia was the 62nd season of the tournament. The competition started on 9 August 2008 and ended on 13 May 2009. The radically different format used in the 2007–08 Coppa was abandoned, with the new format more closely resembling earlier editions of the tournament.

China participated and hosted the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou on 12–27 November 2010. China achieved a historic milestone by surpassing the 400-medal threshold in a single edition, so becoming the first nation to do so in the history of the Asian Games.
The 2010–11 Coppa Italia, also known as TIM Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 64th season of the competition. As in the previous year, 78 clubs took part in the tournament. Internazionale were the cup holders and successfully retained the trophy. It was Inter Milan's last competitive title until winning the Serie A title in 2021.
Thailand participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China between 12–27 November 2010. The National Olympic Committee of Thailand sent 593 athletes to Guangzhou, and competed in 39 out of 42 sports. Thailand ended the games at 52 overall medals including 11 gold medals. These games witnessed first ever gold medals in Taekwondo.
Russian Federation hosted and competed at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia. 663 athletes are a part of the Russian team which is the biggest team there. Russian team took a first place with almost a half of gold and more than quarter of all medals and set 38 of 67 records in this Universiade.
The United States of America (USA) competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. 586 competitors, 333 men and 253 women, took part in 265 events in 31 sports.
The teams competing in Group 1 of the 2000 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying competition were Belarus, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland and Wales.
Russia participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan. Russia sent a delegation of 348 sportspeople and 169 assistants this time. Of those, 13 athletes were Merited Masters of Sport and 81 world-class Masters of Sport.
The People's Republic of China competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. China won 289 medals, leading the medal count for the tenth time in Asian Games history.
Argentina competed in the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019.
South Korea participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. It was the 18th appearance of the country at the Asian Games, except the first edition in Delhi. As one of the best competitors at the Games, South Korea's best achievement was in the 2002 Busan, with the acquisition of 96 gold, 80 silver and 84 bronze medals. At the latest edition in 2014 Incheon, the country had collected 79 gold, 71 silver, and 84 bronze medals.
Chinese Taipei competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. At the last Games in Incheon, the country bagged a total 51 medals, including 10 gold, 18 silver, and 23 bronze. This time, Chinese Taipei is set to send a 738-strong team to compete in 36 of 40 sporting events, including 588 athletes.
Japan participated in the 2018 Asian Games as a competing nation, in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018.

The murder of Simonetta Lamberti took place in Cava de' Tirreni, Italy, on 29 May 1982. The victim, the 11-year-old daughter of magistrate Alfonso Lamberti (1937-2015), was killed during an attack targeting her father, at the time prosecutor of Sala Consilina.
