Lee Woo-seok (born 7 August 1997) is a South Korean archer who competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. He won the gold medal in the men's event. [1]
Lee lives in Seoul and attends Suncheon high school. He says that his coach Kim Min-hyun is his hero and that his ambition is to be an Olympic champion. [2]
The modern Olympic Games or Olympics are the leading international sporting events featuring summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions. The Olympic Games are considered the world's foremost sports competition with more than 200 teams,representing sovereign states and territories participating;by default the Games generally substitute for any World Championships the year in which they take place. The Olympic Games are held every four years;since 1994,they have been alternated between the Summer and Winter Olympics every two years during the four-year period.
The Paralympic Games or Paralympics,also known as the Games of the Paralympiad,is a periodic series of international multisport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities. There are Winter and Summer Paralympic Games,which since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul,South Korea,are held almost immediately following the respective Olympic Games. All Paralympic Games are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Athletes from Belarus began their Olympic participation at the 1952 Summer Games in Helsinki,Finland,as part of the Soviet Union. After the Soviet Union disbanded in 1991,Belarus,along with four of the other fourteen former Soviet republics,competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics as the Unified Team. Later in 1992,Belarus joined eleven republics to compete as the Unified Team at the Summer Games in Barcelona,Spain. Two years later,Belarus competed for the first time as an independent nation in the 1994 Winter Olympics,held in Lillehammer,Norway.
The all-time medal table for all Olympic Games from 1896 to 2022,including Summer Olympic Games,Winter Olympic Games,and a combined total of both,is tabulated below. These Olympic medal counts do not include the 1906 Intercalated Games which are no longer recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as official Games. The IOC itself does not publish all-time tables,and publishes unofficial tables only per single Games. This table was thus compiled by adding up single entries from the IOC database.
The Philippines has competed in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games since its debut in the 1924 edition,except when they participated in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. Filipino athletes have also competed at the Winter Olympic Games on five occasions since 1972.
Slovenia first participated as an independent nation at the Olympic Games at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville,France,and the country has sent athletes to compete at every Games since then. The Slovenian Olympic Committee was established in 1991 and was recognised by the International Olympic Committee on 5 February 1992.
The 2010 Summer Youth Olympics,officially known as the I Summer Youth Olympic Games,and commonly known as Singapore 2010,was the inaugural edition of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG),an Olympic Games-based event for young athletes. Held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010,it was the first International Olympic Committee–sanctioned event held in Southeast Asia. The Games featured about 3,600 athletes aged 14–18 from 204 nations,who competed in 201 events in 26 sports. No official medal tables were published,but the most successful nation was China,followed by Russia;hosts Singapore did not win any gold medals. Most unique features of the YOG,such as mixed-NOCs teams and the Culture and Education Programme (CEP),made their debut at the 2010 Games.
Kosovo made its Olympic debut as a member state in 2016. Its team is organized by the Olympic Committee of Kosovo (OCK),created in 1992 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee on 9 December 2014. It won its first medal in its debut appearance in 2016,when judoka Majlinda Kelmendi took gold in the women's -52 kg category. In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,Nora Gjakova won gold in the women's judo -57 kg class,and Distria Krasniqi won gold in the women's judo -48 kg class.
The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics,officially known as the II Summer Youth Olympic Games Chinese:第二届夏季青年奧林匹克运动会;pinyin:Dì'èrjièXiàjìQīngnián ÀolínpǐkèYùndònghuì,and commonly known as Nanjing 2014,were the second Summer Youth Olympic Games,an international sports,education and cultural festival for teenagers,held from 16 to 28 August 2014 in Nanjing,China. These were the first Youth Olympic Games held in China,making it the first country to host both regular and Youth Olympics following the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
The 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament was a wushu competition which was held from August 21 to 24,2008 at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing,China. The tournament was organised by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG),the International Wushu Federation (IWUF),and the Chinese Wushu Association (CWA),and was held in tandem with the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Australia has participated officially in every Paralympic Games since its inauguration in 1960 except for the 1976 Winter Paralympics.
Lee Dae-Hoon is a South Korean taekwondo athlete. He won a bronze medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics and a silver in the 2012 Summer Olympics. He has achieved world first level rankings in the under 68 kg weight class.
The Marshall Islands marked its second consecutive Olympiad,at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London,from July 27 to August 12,2012. The Olympian delegation included two men and two women,one male and one female athlete in athletics and one male and one female athlete in swimming. Middle-distance runner Haley Nemra was honored as the national flag bearer at the opening ceremony. The Marshall Islands continued their streak of bringing home no medals.
Tonga sent a delegation to compete at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi,Russia from 7–23 February 2014. This was the Pacific island nation's debut at the Winter Olympic Games. The Tongan delegation consisted of one luge athlete,Bruno Banani,who had changed his name in a marketing gimmick to match that of German brand Bruno Banani. In his event,the men's singles,he came in 32nd place out of 39 competitors.

Kyle Stolk is a Dutch competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle events. He won a silver medal in the boys' 200 m freestyle at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing,and finished seventh as a member of the Dutch swimming squad in the 4×200 m freestyle relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Stolk currently trains for the swimming league at PSV Eindhoven,under the tutelage of his coach and three-time Olympian Marcel Wouda.
The 2014 Nanjing Youth Wushu Tournament was a wushu competition which was held from August 22 to 24,2014 at the Gaochun Gymnasium in Nanjing,China. The name "Nanjing Youth Wushu Tournament" was used to specify that wushu was only an invitational sport at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and not an official event.
