The 2018 Archery World Cup , also known as the Hyundai Archery World Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 13th edition of the international archery circuit organised annually by World Archery. The 2018 World Cup consisted of five events, and ran from 23 April to 30 September 2018. [1]

The Archery World Cup is a competition organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. Started in 2006, this form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. It has received plaudits for its innovative approach to the sport, raising its profile and reach.

Deepika Kumari is an Indian professional archer, supported by OGQ. She won a gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth games in the women's individual recurve event. She also won a gold medal in the same competition in the women's team recurve event along with Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi. She has won individual gold in two of the three stages of the World Cup—one in Guatemala and another in Paris. In the process she also reclaimed the number one ranking after nine years in Paris World Cup. Deepika Kumari won individual gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 1. Deepika Kumari also defeated Mexico by 5–1 in the final to win gold in Paris.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Oh Jin-hyek</span> South Korean archer (born 1981)

Oh Jin-hyek is a South Korean archer. Oh first competed for the Korean national team in 1999, but did not win a major individual international tournament until he won the gold medal in the Men's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, also becoming the first Korean male archer to win an Olympic individual gold medal. With partners Im Dong-hyun and Kim Bub-min, he also finished in third place in the Men's team event. He was the world number one ranked archer from April 2013 to June 2014, winning the individual gold medal at the 2013 Archery World Cup Final and two individual silver medals at the 2011 and 2013 World Championships.

Chang Hye-jin is a South Korean former recurve archer. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Chang was the Olympic champion in both the women's individual and women's team events at 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She is also a former number one-ranked recurve archer, having headed the World Archery Rankings between 2017 and 2019.

The 2021 Archery World Cup, also known as the Hyundai Archery World Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the 15th edition of the international archery circuit organised annually by World Archery. The 2021 World Cup consisted of four events, and ran from 19 April to 30 September 2021.

Lisa Barbelin is a French archer, who won the recurve events at the 2021 European Archery Championships, and 2022 European Indoor Archery Championships. She has previously won multiple medals at the World Youth Archery Championships, and won bronze medals in events at the 2019 and 2022 Archery World Cups. In June 2021 she was the world's number one ranked competitor. Barbelin competed in the women's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Jack Williams is an American archer. He competed in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. Two months later, he won the silver medal in the men's team event at the 2021 World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. The following weekend he competed at the 2021 Hyundai World Archery World Cup Final, and became the first archer appearing at the season-ending event as a host representative to take gold.

The 2022 Archery World Cup, also known as the Hyundai Archery World Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the 16th edition of the international archery circuit organised annually by World Archery. The 2022 World Cup consist of five events, and will run from 19 April to 24 July 2022 so far.
