2007 Archery World Cup

The 2007 Archery World Cup was the second edition of the Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held in Ulsan, South Korea, the second leg in Varese, Italy, the third at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the final leg was held in Dover, United Kingdom.

Contents

The best individual and mixed performers in each discipline over the three legs then joined host representatives in qualifying for the World Cup Finals, which were contested on in Dubai, UAE.

Competition rules and scoring

The compound legs consisted of a 50m qualification round of 72 arrows, followed by the compound round at 50m on a 6-zone target face, using cumulative scoring for all individual, team and mixed competitions. The top four individual performers (with no more than two from each country) proceeded to the finals. [1]

The recurve legs consisted of a FITA qualification round, followed by a 72m Olympic set system . The top seven individual performers (with no more than two from each country), plus one host nation representative if not already qualified, proceeded to the finals; the top mixed team performer proceeded to face the host nation at the finals, which were the same competition format as the legs. The team competition was not competed at the finals. [2]

Archery at the Summer Olympics

Archery had its debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics and has been contested in 16 Olympiads. Eighty-four nations have competed in the Olympic archery events, with France appearing the most often at 31 times. The most noticeable trend has been the excellence of South Korean archers, who have won 27 out of 39 gold medals in events since 1984. It is governed by the World Archery Federation. Archery World Cup

The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. It has received plaudits for its innovative approach to the sport, raising its profile and reach.

Albina Loginova Russian archer

Albina Nikolayevna Loginova is a Russian compound archer. She was the World Archery number one in women's compound archery, achiving it on 9 July 2013. She now serves as a coach.

Turkish Archery Federation is the governing body of the archery sport in Turkey. It was founded in 1961. The Turkish organization is member of the European and Mediterranean Archery Union (EMAU) and the World Archery Federation (WAF). The TOF is based in Ankara and its current chairman is Abdullah Topaloğlu, who serves his second term elected in 2012.

The World Archery Rankings is a ranking system developed by the World Archery Federation for international competitive archery. It is calculated using a points system and published following major World Archery tournaments.

The 2006 Archery World Cup was the first edition of the Archery World Cup, designed to highlight archery in some of the world's "most spectacular" locations following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York City and the 2004 Summer Olympics. The final leg was held in Shanghai.

The 2010 Archery World Cup was the fifth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held in Porec, Croatia, the second leg at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg in Ogden, Utah, United States. The final leg was held in Shanghai, China before the finals in Edinburgh, UK.

The 2011 Archery World Cup was the sixth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held on 2–7 May in Porec, Croatia, the second leg on 6–12 June at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg on 2–6 August in Ogden, Utah, United States. The final leg was held from 5–10 September in Shanghai.

2014 Archery World Cup

The 2014 Archery World Cup was the ninth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The locations for the 4 preliminary stages were the same as in 2013, with the first leg in Shanghai, China from 22–27 April, the second leg on 13–18 May in Medellin, Colombia, the third leg on 10–15 June in Antalya, Turkey, and the final leg on August 5–10 in Wroclaw, Poland. The finals were held in Lausanne on 6–7 September.

The 2012 Archery World Cup was the seventh edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. As 2012 was an Olympic year, the World Cup consisted of three, not four legs. The first leg was held on April 14–15 in Shanghai, China, the second leg on May 5–6 at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg on June 23–24 in Ogden, Utah, United States.

2013 Archery World Cup

The 2013 Archery World Cup was the eighth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. Four stages were held from May to August 2013, in Shanghai, Antalya, Medellin and Wroclaw, in which archers in the recurve and compound disciplines acquired qualifying points based on their performance. The top mixed team and the top seven individual archers over the course of the four stages joined the leading non-qualified host nation archer for the finals at the Fontaines du Trocadéro in Paris on 21–22 September.

2015 World Archery Championships

The 2015 World Archery Championships was the 48th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark from 26 July to 2 August 2015 and was organised by World Archery. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Sundby Idrætspark, with the medal matches on 1–2 August outside the Danish Parliament building Christiansborg Palace. The competition was preceded by the World Archery Congress on 24–25 July.

The 2015 Archery World Cup is the tenth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The locations for the 4 preliminary stages are the same as in 2014, with the first leg in Shanghai, China from 5–10 May, the second leg on 26–31 May in Antalya, Turkey, the third leg on 11–16 August in Wroclaw, Poland, and the final leg on 8–13 September in Medellin, Colombia. The finals will be held in Mexico City on 17–18 October.

Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics

Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held between 10 and 17 September 2016 at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí in the Maracana zone of Rio de Janeiro, and consisted of nine events. The make up of those events changed substantially from the 2012 games, and consisted of three men's events, three women's events and three events for mixed gender teams. Men, women and mixed teams each competed in two events for compound bow, one for wheelchair athletes, the other open, and an open event for recurve bow, the bow used for all Olympic events.

The 2016 Archery World Cup is the eleventh edition of the Archery World Cup organised annually by the World Archery Federation. The World Cup finals will be held in Odense, Denmark on 24–25 September. The preliminary stage consisted of three legs instead of the usual four, to make room for the Olympic archery tournament. The first preliminary leg was in Shanghai, China from 26 April to 1 May, the second leg on 9–15 May in Medellin, Colombia and the final leg on 12–19 June in Antalya, Turkey. The Antalya leg was also the final Olympic qualification event.

The 2017 Archery World Cup is the 12th edition of the Archery World Cup organised annually by the World Archery Federation. The World Cup finals will be held in Odense, Denmark on 24–25 September. The locations for the 4 preliminary stages were: The first leg in Shanghai, China from 16–21 May, the second leg on 6–11 June in Antalya, Turkey, the third leg on 20–25 June in Salt Lake City, U.S. and the final leg on 8–13 August in Berlin, Germany. The finals were held in Rome, Italy on 2–3 September.

Archery at the Pacific Games was first contested at the 1971 games at Papeete. It has also been included in the Pacific Mini Games, firstly at Norfolk Island in 2001 and then Port Vila in 2017.
