Waddington Mwayenga (born 20 June 1984) is a Zimbabwean-Australian former cricketer. He is now based in Australia and works as a truck driver. [1]

Mwayenga became an Australian citizen in 2014. [2] He is a brother of Allan Mwayenga. [3]

Career

Mwayenga was primarily a medium pace bowler and played his county cricket for Worcestershire 2nd XI. Waddington spents summer playing at Nottinghamshire Cricket Club, Radcliffe-On-Trent, and has moved on to Australia for the winter before being expected to return to England for summer.

His Test debut came in the second Test against Indian cricket team in 2005/06.

Abraham "Abe" Waddington, sometimes known as Abram Waddington, was a professional cricketer for Yorkshire, who played in two Test matches for England, both against Australia in 1920–21. Between 1919 and 1927 Waddington made 255 appearances for Yorkshire, and in all first-class cricket played 266 matches. In these games, he took a total of 852 wickets with his left arm fast-medium bowling. Capable of making the ball swing, Waddington was admired for the aesthetic quality of his bowling action. He was a hostile bowler who sometimes sledged opposing batsmen and questioned umpires' decisions, behaviour which was unusual during his playing days.

An England team toured Australia between November 1920 and March 1921. The tour was organised by the Marylebone Cricket Club and matches outside the Tests were played under the MCC name. The tour itinerary consisted of 13 first-class matches, including a series of 5 Test matches against Australia in which The Ashes were at stake.
