Waisa is a village in the Chhachh Valley in Pakistan, a geographical region in the northern section of Attock District, to the east of Peshawar, and west of Islamabad. [1]
Waisa was the first village to get an ambulance service in Pakistan. This service was executed through extreme support from Radio Broadcaster 'Waheed Gull'.
Also, Waisa is the first village to have a recyling plant being built within it. This recycling plant is a project of the group 'Anmol Welfare Society'.
The village was geographically situated in the Attock District within one mile of the south side of the Indus River. Waisa neighbours the villages of Kamalpur Moosa in the east, Tajak on the southern side, Shadi Khan in the west, and Sirka Village towards the north west. The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, is located 60 miles east of Waisa.
West Punjab was a province in the Dominion of Pakistan from 1947 to 1955. It was established from the western-half of British Punjab, following the independence of Pakistan. The province covered an area of 159,344 km sq, including much of the current Punjab province and the Islamabad Capital Territory, but excluding the former Princely state of Bahawalpur. Lahore, being the largest city and the cultural centre, served as the capital of the province. The province was composed of four divisions and was bordered by the state of Bahawalpur to the south-east, the province of Baluchistan to the south-west and Sind to the south, North-West Frontier Province to the north-west, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to the north. On 16 August 2015, two suspected suicide bombers detonated explosives at the home office of Punjab Interior Minister Shuja Khanzada in the Attock District village of Shadikhan, 80 km (50 mi) from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. The blasts killed the minister and 18 other people; at least 17 people were injured and taken to hospitals. Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), a Deobandi militant group with ties to Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack, and it was later determined that Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan was also involved.
