Wait Field was the second playing surface, replacing Baldwin Park, for Tennessee Volunteers football. It was located at the southeast corner of 15th Street and Cumberland Avenue, currently the site of the Walters Life Science Building. [1] [2] [3] It was also the home venue for Tennessee Volunteers baseball until 1920, when the program moved to Lower Hudson Field.

The 1957 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented the Ohio State University in the 1957 Big Ten Conference football season. The team was led by captains Galen Cisco and Leo Brown. They were the third national title team in Ohio State football history. They were coached by Hall of Fame coach Woody Hayes. The Buckeyes were awarded the title by the UPI Coaches Poll and represented the Big Ten Conference in the Rose Bowl.

The 1908 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 1908 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The season was the second of head coach George Levene's three-year tenure.

Alisa Harvey is a middle distance runner from the United States. She set her personal best in the women's 1,500 meters 4:08.32 on June 26, 1992, at the US Olympic Trials in New Orleans and in the 800 meters 1:59.72 in 1995. She was ranked in the U.S. top ten in the 1500 meters 8 years in a row from 1986 to 1993, achieving number 1 in 1993. After taking 1994 off for maternity, she returned to the list in 1998 and 1999. She also made the U.S. list in the 800 metres six times between 1988 and 1996. In 1998 she became the 24th American woman to break 4:30 for a mile. She is still an active masters competitor, holding several world records and pursuing more as she moves into a new age division.

The 1957 Gator Bowl was an American college football bowl game played on December 28, 1957, at Gator Bowl Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. It was the 13th annual playing of the Gator Bowl. The game pitted the Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas A&M Aggies.
