Wajahat Rauf is a Pakistani director, actor, screenwriter, producer and musician. [1]

He has directed and produced commercially successful films, including Karachi Se Lahore (2015), Lahore Se Aagey (2016), Chhalawa (2019) and Parde Mein Rehne Do (2022). Rauf has also produced several popular TV dramas including Raqs-e-Bismil (2021). He is the host and creator of a highly popular YouTube show Voice Over Man. [2] [3] [4]

Career

TV producer and musician

Wajahat Rauf was the channel head of AAG TV, a youth entertainment channel with particular attention given to music, and he himself released a song in 2011, Shikwa. [5] [6] The later being the OST for the youth series Kiya Life Hai aired on ARY Digital . [7] He has produced over 26 television dramas. [8] [9]

Film career

Rauf made his debut as a film director with Karachi Se Lahore in 2015, which grossed 10.5 crore at box-office. [10] He made his second film in 2016, which was titled Lahore Se Aagey , which grossed 21.6 crore at box-office. [11] In 2019, he directed Chhalawa which was also a box-office success. [12] [13] His 4th film, Parde Mein Rehne Do was released on May 3, 2022, and received critical acclaim from major publications. [14]

Karachi Se Lahore is a 2015 Pakistani road-comedy adventure film directed and produced by Wajahat Rauf under the production banner Showcase Films with a story written by Yasir Hussain Karachi Se Lahore features an ensemble cast, including Javed Sheikh, Mantaha Tareen Maqsood, Yasir Hussain, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Eshita Syed, Aashir Wajahat and Rasheed Naz, whereas lead roles are played by Shahzad Sheikh and Ayesha Omer. Lahore Se Aagey is a 2016 Pakistani road-comedy romantic film directed by Wajahat Rauf, written by Yasir Hussain and Produced by Wajahat Rauf, Asfand Faruok, Salman Iqbal, and Jarjees Seja. The film is a spin-off to 2015 comedy film Karachi Se Lahore and second installment in Karachi Lahore film series. It features an all star cast, including Hussain along with Saba Qamar, Behroze Sabzwari, Abdullah Farhatullah, Mubashir Malik, Atiqa Odho, Rubina Ashraf and Noor ul Hasan. The film was released worldwide on 11 November 2016 under the production banner of Showcase Films. Upon release, it received criticism from critics and became a moderate box office success.

Karachi Lahore is a series of Pakistani road comedy romantic films directed by Wajahat Rauf and written by Yasir Hussain. The first film of the series was released in 2015. Karachi Se Lahore, featured an ensemble cast including Shehzad Sheikh and Ayesha Omer playing lead roles. Zara Noor Abbas Gill, also known by her married name Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui, is a Pakistani actress. She is best known for her role as Arsala in Momina Duraid's Khamoshi (2017), and has also acted in serials Dharkan (2016), Lamhay (2018), Qaid (2018), Deewar-e-Shab (2019), Ehd-e-Wafa (2019), Phaans (2021), Badshah Begum (2022) and Jhoom (2023). She made her film debut with Wajahat Rauf's Chhalawa (2019) and later appeared in Asim Raza's Parey Hut Luv in the same year.

Chhalawa is Pakistani romantic comedy film, written, directed and produced by Wajahat Rauf under his Showcase Films. Edited by Hasan Ali Khan. It has Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Aashir Wajahat and Mehmood Aslam in pivot roles. It released on Eid al-Fitr, June 2019, by Hum Films and Eveready Pictures.

Asad Siddiqui is a Pakistani actor, who started his acting career while studying for his MBA. The nephew of actor Adnan Siddiqui, he appeared in notable television projects including Gumrah, Khuda Dekh Raha Hai, Shikwa, Dareecha, Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, Joru Ka Ghulam, Sanam, Tawaan. He is best known for his role as an Antagonist in Surkh Chandni which is about Acid Attack victims. He made his film debut with Wajahat Rauf's Chhalawa with his real life partner Zara Noor Abbas.

Parde Mein Rehne Do is a 2022 Pakistani social romantic comedy film written by Mohsin Ali, directed and produced by Wajahat Rauf under Showcase Films. It stars Hania Aamir and Ali Rehman Khan. It was released on Eid al-Fitr, 3 May 2022, by Eveready Pictures and Geo Films.

Munazzah Arif is a Pakistani actress who predominantly appears in Pakistani television serials. She earlier starred as recurring roles and mostly plays the role of mothers. She made her cinematic debut in Azfar Jaffri's film Heer Maan Ja and later starred in Parde Mein Rehne Do. Some of her notable television appearances where she played supporting roles, include Uraan, Inkaar, Kashf and Khuda Aur Muhabbat.
