Wamanrao Sadashivrao Chatap (born 13 May 1952) is the former president of Shetkari Sanghatana (farmers' Organisation). [1] He was also President of the Swatantra Bharat Paksha representing Maharashtra in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly,the lower house. [1] He was MLA for three times,and was awarded "Best Performer in assembly" twice. He practised as a lawyer in Chandrapur district court from 1976 to 1980.
In 1990 he won his first Legislative Assembly from Rajura assembly,to be elected as a MLA. After this,due to his progressive work and popularity in constituency,he was elected as MLA twice. A lawyer relentless crusader against the inequality of system and lack of focus on alleviation of inequities. Wamanrao is in the forefront of secgrass roots movements in Maharashtra. A former member of Maharashtra Assembly,he has strived for better governance and raised the bar in public representation.
He born in Bibi in Korpana Taluka of Chandrapur district in Indian state of Maharashtra. He had completed Law degree. There is biography written on him as "khadtar yatrecha vatsaru." His journey from child of farmer family to best member of legislative assembly is very impressive. He is very studious and hardworking person . Provided thousands of shelters to backward class people like Kolam,Adivasi,etc. Recently he was awarded by the prestigious Baburao Potdukhe Memorial Award. He was Chief Minister of Vidarbha Mock assembly in 2013. [3] He dedicated his life for farmers.

The Swatantra Bharat Paksh is a liberal political party in Maharashtra,India,established in 1994 by Sharad Anantrao Joshi. It claims its roots in the Swatantra Party of C. Rajagopalachari. It won one seat in the 2004 Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha election,successfully contested by Wamanrao Chatap from the Rajura constituency. In total,the party had launched 7 candidates. Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis is an Indian politician currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra since 30 June 2022,alongside Ajit Pawar. He previously held the position of Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 31 October 2014 to 12 November 2019. From 2019 to 2022,he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and was the President of BJP's Maharashtra state unit from 2013 to 2015. He became Chief Minister at the age of 44,making him the second-youngest in Maharashtra's history after Sharad Pawar. During the 2019 Maharashtra political crisis,he briefly held a second term as Chief Minister for 5 days before resigning on 28 November 2019. Fadnavis has been a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),He has represented the Nagpur South West constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since 2009,having previously served Nagpur West from 1999 to 2009.
