Wang Dong (born 4 February 1986) is a Chinese butterfly swimmer. [1]

Career

At the 2006 Asian Swimming Championships in Singapore, Wang won two gold medals. In the 100 metre butterfly event he won gold in 53.92 [2] and with Ouyang Kunpeng, Xie Zhi and Huang Shaohua won gold in the 4×100 metre medley relay in a new championship record time of 3:42.04. [3]

One month later at the 2006 World Short Course Championships in Shanghai, Wang finished 16th in the 50 metre butterfly [4] equal 28th in the 100 metre butterfly [5] and in the final of the 4 × 100 metre medley relay the Chinese quartet of Wang, Ouyang Kunpeng, Xie Zhi and Huang Shaohua initially finished in 5th place with a time 3:31.73, [6] but were later disqualified. [7]

In December 2006, at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Wang won three medals. He won bronze in both the 50 m [8] and 100 m butterfly [9] and with Ouyang Kunpeng, Lai Zhongjian and Chen Zuo won silver in the 4 × 100 metre medley relay. [10]

The following year at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships, Wang finished 31st in the 50 metre butterfly, [11] 27th in the 100 metre butterfly, [12] and with Ouyang Kunpeng, Lai Zhongjian and Chen Zuo finished 13th in 4 × 100 metre medley relay. [13]

Nicholas Santos Brazilian swimmer

Nicholas Araújo Dias dos Santos is a Brazilian competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and butterfly sprint events. He swims for Esporte Clube Pinheiros. He swam the 50-metre freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics and was a member of the Brazilian 4×100-meter freestyle team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 50-metre butterfly, he is the World Record holder in Short Course, and he was the Americas Record Holder in Long Course.

The swimming portion of the 2011 FINA World Championships was held July 24–31 at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China. Swimming is one of five aquatic disciplines at the championships.

Daiya Seto Japanese swimmer

Daiya Seto is a Japanese professional swimmer who specializes in individual medley, butterfly, breaststroke, and freestyle events. He won the gold medal in the 400-metre individual medley at the 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2021 world short course championships, as well as at the 2013, 2015, and 2019 world long course championships. Evgeny Rylov Russian swimmer

Evgeny Mikhailovich Rylov is a Russian competitive swimmer and Olympic champion specializing in backstroke events. He won three gold medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, and a bronze medal at his senior international debut at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan. He also won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, both were in the 200 metre backstroke event. In 2018, at the 2018 World Short Course Championships, he won gold medals in the 200 metre backstroke and 50 metre backstroke. At the 2019 World Championships, he won a gold medal in the 200 metre backstroke, silver medal in the 100 metre backstroke, and silver medal in the 50 metre backstroke. He won the gold medal in the 100 metre backstroke and 200 metre backstroke at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

He holds the U.S. Open record in the long course 100 meter freestyle and three world records in short course relay events. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he won a gold medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay, swimming in both the prelims and the final of the event. In 2021, he won silver medals in the 50 meter freestyle and the 100 meter freestyle at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. Kristóf Milák Hungarian swimmer

Kristóf Milák is a Hungarian swimmer. He is the current holder of the world record in the long course 200 metre butterfly and the European record in the long course 100 metre butterfly. He also currently holds the Hungarian record in the short course 50 metre backstroke. At his first Olympic Games, the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 200 metre butterfly and a silver medal in the 100 metre butterfly. He has also won three gold medals and one silver at the World Aquatic Championships, as well as three gold medals at the European Aquatics Championships. Ilya Syarheyevich Shymanovich is a Belarusian swimmer. He is the world record holder in the short course 100 metre breaststroke and a former world record holder in the short course 50 metre breaststroke. At the 2018 World Championships he won two silver medals, one each in the 100 metre breaststroke and the 50 metre breaststroke. He won two gold medals, one in the 50 metre breaststroke and one in the 200 metre breaststroke, and a silver medal, in the 100 metre breaststroke, at the 2021 European Short Course Championships. Andrey Minakov Russian swimmer

Andrey Dmitriyevich Minakov is a Russian swimmer and Olympian. He is the current world junior record holder in the 50 metre butterfly, both short course and long course, and a former world junior record holder in the long course 100 metre freestyle. He is the Russian record holder in the long course 100 metre butterfly. At the 2019 World Aquatics Championships, he won silver medals in the 100 metre butterfly and 4×100 metre freestyle relay, and a bronze medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay. Thomas Ceccon Italian swimmer

Thomas Ceccon is an Italian swimmer. He is the world record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay, winning a silver medal, and Men's 4 × 100 metre medley relay winning a bronze medal.

Léon Marchand is a French swimmer. He is the European record holder in the long course 400 metre individual medley and the French record holder in the long course 200 metre individual medley and 200 metre butterfly. He competed in the 400 metre individual medley at the 2020 Summer Olympics, placing sixth in the final. At the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, he won NCAA titles in the 200 yard breaststroke and 200 yard individual medley. He won the gold medal in the 400 metre individual medley and the 200 metre individual medley and the silver medal in the 200 metre butterfly at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships.

Michele Lamberti is a competitive Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×50-metre medley relay. He also currently holds the Italian record in the short course 50-metre backstroke. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships he won a gold medal and set a world record in the 4×50-metre medley relay, won three silver medals, one in the 50-metre backstroke, one in the 100-metre butterfly, and one in the 4×50-metre mixed medley relay, and won a bronze medal in the 200-metre backstroke. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships he won two bronze medals in relay events, swimming in the prelims heats for each relay.

Sergey Geybel Russian swimmer

Sergey Geybel is a competitive Russian swimmer specializing in breaststroke events. He is a world record holder in the 4×100-metre medley relay and formerly held a world record in the 4×50-metre medley relay. He won a gold medal at the 2008 World Short Course Championships, on the world-record-setting finals relay team for the 4×100-metre medley relay. He also won two silver medals and one bronze medal over the course of his career in the 4×50-metre medley relay at the European Short Course Championships.

Kirill Strelnikov is a Russian competitive swimmer. He won a gold medal in the 4×50 metre medley relay at the 2021 World Short Course Championships and the 4×100 metre medley relay at the 2013 World University Games, swimming the breaststroke leg of both relays in the final. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships he won a bronze medal in the 4×50 metre mixed medley relay, swimming the breaststroke leg of the relay in the prelims heats.
