Wang Shijie (born 10 November 1963) is a Chinese athlete. He competed in the men's long jump at the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1]

The People's Republic of China competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. It was the first appearance at the Summer Games for the country after its mostly symbolic presence at the Summer Games in 1952 during which the dispute between the Republic of China and the PRC resulted in the former withdrawing all its athletes. After 1952 and until these games, the PRC boycotted the Olympics due to the Taiwan's presence as the Republic of China. In 1984, the Republic of China competed as Chinese Taipei and the PRC competed as China. Due to the then ongoing Sino-Soviet split, China did not participate in the Soviet-led boycott. In the previous games, China participated the United States-led boycott to protest the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.

Wang Liqin is a retired Mainland Chinese table tennis player. He began playing at the age of 6 and was picked for the Chinese men's national squad in 1993 when he was only 15 years old. He holds three majors. He has been ranked #1 by ITTF for 25 consecutive months, from September 2000 to September 2002, which is the second-longest period for being consecutive #1 of the world as of January 2011. At the end of 2013, Wang Liqin retired from the national team.

Wang Meng is a Chinese short track speed skater. She is a four-time Olympic Champion and 2008 and 2009 Overall World Champion. She is the most decorated Chinese Winter Olympic athlete ever with four Olympic gold medals, a silver and a bronze. Wang won gold in the 500 m event, silver in the 1000 m and bronze in the 1500 m event at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She won 500 m and 1000 m gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and added a third gold medal in the 3000 m relay with the China team. Wang has also won 18 gold medals at the World Championships. She won gold medal in the Women's 20 km walk race in 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She is the first ethnic Tibetan to compete and win a medal in the Olympics. After winning the medal, Qieyang Shijie said she was most grateful to her coach. Originally she won a bronze medal, but after Russia's Olga Kaniskina was disqualified in March 2016 for doping, she was awarded the silver medal, and with the subsequent disqualification of Elena Lashmanova she was promoted to gold. She also finished in 5th place at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Qieyang Shijie finished 7th at 2020 Summer Olympics.

Yang Wang is a New Zealand sport shooter of Chinese origin. Yang represented his adopted nation New Zealand at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in the men's 10 m air pistol. He finished only in thirty-ninth place by two points behind Germany's Florian Schmidt from the final attempt, for a total score of 571 targets.

Wang Shih-chieh also known as Wang Shijie was a Chinese politician and scholar of the Kuomintang in service to the Republic of China. He signed the message of goodwill on behalf of the Government of China to the Constitutional Assembly of India at its inaugural meeting on the 9th of December 1946.
