Ward 7 is a municipal ward in the east end of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Its representation on Windsor City Council is currently Angelo Marignani. It contains that part of the city of Windsor east of the Little River and north of the E. C. Row Expressway. [1] It covers the neighbourhoods of Forest Glade and East Riverside.

Ward 7 was created for the 2010 municipal elections when Windsor City council went from having five wards (two councillors each) to 10 (one councillor each). [2] Previously most of the area had been part of Ward 5, with a small part belonging to Ward 4.

A by-election was held on December 9, 2013 to replace Hatfield who had been elected as an MPP for Windsor—Tecumseh. [4]

2020 by-election

A by-election was held on October 5, 2020 to replace Kusmierczyk who was elected as the MP for Windsor—Tecumseh. [8] The by-election was originally scheduled for April 27, [9] but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. [10]

Neethan Shanmugarajah (Neethan Shan) (Tamil: நீதன் சண்முகராஜா, romanized: Nītaṉ Caṇmukarājā; born December 24, 1978), is a Canadian politician who represented Ward 42 Scarborough—Rouge River on Toronto City Council from February 2017 to November 2018. Shan was the first Tamil Canadian to sit on Toronto's City Council. Shan is currently the Vice-Chair of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). Shan was elected to the TDSB in 2016 and again in 2022. Shan has sought public office 13 times since 2003; 8 of which were municipally and provincially, 5. He won 4 times: YRDSB Trustee in 2006, TDSB Trustee in 2016, Toronto City Councillor in 2017 and TDSB Trustee in 2022.

Irek Kusmierczyk is a Polish-Canadian politician who was elected to represent the riding of Windsor—Tecumseh in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2019 Canadian federal election. Prior to his election in the House of Commons, he was a city councillor for the Windsor City Council representing Ward 7.
