The 2017 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXIX Summer Universiade and commonly called the Taipei 2017 Universiade, was an international multi-sport event that took place in Taipei, Taiwan from 19 to 30 August 2017.
Women's water polo at the 2015 Summer Universiade was held in Yeomju Indoor Aquatics Center, Gwangju, Korea from 2–14 July 2015.
The men's tournament of football at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held from August 18 to 29 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The women's tournament of football at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held from August 18 to 28 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Water polo was contested at the 2017 Summer Universiade from August 18 to 31 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Men's water polo at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 18 to 30 August 2017.
Swimming was contested at the 2017 Summer Universiade from August 20 to 27 in Taipei, Taiwan. The swimming competitions were held at the National Taiwan Sport University Arena and the New Taipei City Breeze Canal.
Artistic gymnastics was contested at the 2017 Summer Universiade from August 19 to 23, and rhythmic gymnastics was contested from August 27 to 29, both events was held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
Russia participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan. Russia sent a delegation of 348 sportspeople and 169 assistants this time. Of those, 13 athletes were Merited Masters of Sport and 81 world-class Masters of Sport.
Mexico will participate at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan.
Brazil participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan.

Clara Vulpisi is a Canadian water polo player from Montreal. She is a member of the Canada women's national water polo team. She will participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Jamie Valeri Neushul is an American water polo player who is a member of the United States women's national water polo team. She became world champion at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships and was a member of the team at the 2017 Summer Universiade, 2017 FINA Women's Water Polo World League, 2018 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup, 2019 Pan American Games, and 2019 FINA Women's Water Polo World League. She will be part of the team in the women's water polo tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Amanda Longan is an American water polo goalkeeper and member of the United States women's national water polo team. She became world champion at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. She also participated at among others the 2017 Summer Universiade, 2017 FINA Women's Water Polo World League, 2018 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup, 2019 Pan American Games, and 2019 FINA Women's Water Polo World League. She will be part of the team in the women's water polo tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Emily Frances Alice Arbuthnott is a British professional tennis player.
