Jordan Raney (born June 2, 1996) is an American water polo player who is a member of the United States women's national water polo team. [1] She was part of the gold medal-winning American team at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. [2]

College career

Raney played water polo at Stanford University where she helped lead the Cardinal to NCAA Championships in 2015 and 2017. [3] In 2018 Raney was 1st Team All-American and 1st Team All-MPSF. [4]

International career

Raney made her Senior National Team debut in 2017, [1] winning the FINA World League Super Final. [5] A standout defender, she made her professional debut competing for NC Vouliagmeni in Greece alongside Team USA teammates Ashleigh Johnson and Stephania Haralabidis. [1] [4] She currently plays for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos Piraeus, with whom she won the 2021–22 LEN Euro League.

She trained full-time with the U.S. team for two years with the goal of competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics, [6] but she didn't make the final roster. [7] [8]

In 2022, Raney led Team USA with 12 goals as well as being named the Media All-Star Team at the 2022 FINA World League Super Final in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. At the 2022 FINA Championships in Budapest, Raney scored 5 goals for Team USA. [4]

Brian Alexander is a former American water polo player who was a member of the United States men's national water polo team.

Margaret Ann Steffens is an American professional water polo player. She won the gold medal with the United States at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Steffens set a new Olympic record for the most goals scored by an individual player in women's water polo at the Olympic Games.

The men's water polo tournament at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, organised by the FINA, was held in Budapest, Hungary from 17 to 29 July 2017.

The 2018 FINA Women's Water Polo World League was the 15th edition of the annual women's international water polo tournament. Madeline Musselman is an American water polo player. Maddie was named Woman's water polo MVP after her USA Team won gold in Tokyo at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It is the fourth time in her career that she has been named the MVP of a major international tournament as she was named the MVP of the FINA World League Super Final in 2019 and again in 2021. Stephania Haralabidis was born in Athens, Greece. Haralabidis is a Greek American water polo player who played at USC and currently playing for Ethnikos and the U.S. national team. Haralabidis also has two sisters, her twin Ioanna and older sister Anastaia. Ioanna was also on the USC women's water polo team.

The FINA Water Polo World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in water polo. The teams of the member nations of FINA, water polo's world governing body, are ranked based on their competitions results with the most successful teams being ranked highest.
