WatsUp TV is a 24 hour digital entertainment Television channel [1] [2] made for the Pan-African Bi-Lingual community and also aired on various television channels across Africa [3] founded by Abd Traore. [4]
Its award, the WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards (WAMVA) was launched on 29 September 2016 in Accra, Ghana [5] and on December 28, 2016, winners of the maiden edition of the Awards were announced in a ceremony that hosted industry players and the media. [6] The Awards were also widely recognized and acknowledged by recipients across the continent.[ weasel words ]
The CEO of WatsUp TV, Mr Abd Traore launched its sister company named WatsUp Magazine on 14 March 2018, an Entertainment Music Magazine and its first edition was covered by Afrobeat highlife Ghanaian Artist Bisa Kdei. [7]
The brand was launched as a TV show on 28 August 2014 at the High Gate Hotel in Accra, followed by a public performance by the International Football Freestyler Iya Traore [8] at the Marina Mall.
It was ranked the 9th most influential program on social media in Ghana in 2014, [9] the 2nd most influential TV program in on social media in Ghana in 2015, [10] and the most influential program on social media in Ghana in 2016. [11] [12]
In July 2016, WatsUp TV launched in Guinea Conakry on Evasion Guinee TV, which airs on Canal +.
In 2018, WatsUp TV hosted the 66th annual Legon Hall Concert which was headlined by Mayorkun [13] and hosted Le Planet Concert in Burkina Faso which was also headlined by Ghanaian Acts, EL and Epixode and Ibah One from Mali. [14]
In 2020, WatsUp TV launched its 24 hours digital channel in Accra [15] [16] and was nominated for the 10th RTP Awards for Best Entertainment TV Program. [17]

Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, better known by her stage name Efya, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress from Kumasi. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad. Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show. She won Best Female Vocal Performance at the Ghana Music Awards in four succession, beginning in 2011. Moreover, she was applauded for her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Ameyaw Kissi Debrah, known professionally as Ameyaw Debrah, is a Ghanaian celebrity blogger, freelance journalist, and reporter. He founded AmeyawDebrah.com, an entertainment website and blog that primarily publishes news about Ghanaian celebrities. He graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree in publishing. While at KNUST, he won the Best Publishing Student award in 2005. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., is a Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist. He is known by his stage name Shatta Wale, formerly Bandana. His best-known singles are "Dancehall King", "My level" and "We taking over". He is also known for "Already" from Beyoncé's Black Is King which also featured Major Lazer. His song "Dancehall King" earned him the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Wale is also an actor who appeared in the films Never Say Never, The trial of Shatta Wale and Shattered Lives. Wale's 2004 recording "Moko Hoo" was nominated for a Ghana Music Award.

The 2016 Ghana Music Awards was the 17th edition of the Ghana Music Awards which was held on May 7, 2016, at the Accra International Conference Center in Accra, Ghana and was hosted by Chris Attoh, DJ Black and Naa Ashorkor. E.L was the biggest winner at the event, taking home a total of five awards including the coveted 'Artiste of the Year' with Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei won four awards each.
