Wavertree Road Ground was a cricket ground in Liverpool, Lancashire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1847, when Liverpool played Birkenhead Park. [1]
In 1859, the ground held its first first-class match when the Gentlemen of the North played the Gentlemen of the South. The next first-class match held on the ground came in 1863 when the North played the South. Lancashire played a single first-class match there in 1866 against Surrey. The final first-class match there came in 1872 when the North played the South. [2]
The final recorded match held on the ground came in 1880 when Wavertree played the Gentlemen of Canada. Shortly after this match the ground was sold for development and built over.
Coventry Road Cricket Ground was a cricket ground in Hinckley, Leicestershire. It was located along Coventry Road to the south, Trinity Lane to the east, with Trinity Vicarage Road to the north. Established in 1946, the ground had a capacity of 3,500.
John "Jack" Crossland was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1878 and 1887. Crossland was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in county cricket, but critics generally believed that he threw, rather than bowled the ball, a practice illegal in cricket. Contemporaries suggest that, but for the suspicions over his bowling action, Crossland would have played Test cricket for England.
Edward Roper was an English amateur first-class cricketer, who played thirty six first-class games from 1876 to 1893. He played twenty eight games for Lancashire County Cricket Club from 1876 to 1878, and five matches for Yorkshire from 1878 to 1880. He also appeared for Gentlemen of the North (1879) and Liverpool and District (1891-1893) in first-class games and for Gentlemen of Liverpool (1884) and Gentlemen of Liverpool and District (1887) in non first-class matches.

By 1867 cricket had ceased to be played at the ground, with an advert appearing in the Rochdale Observer encouraging people to buy shares in a proposed bowling green that was to replace the ground. This proposal eventually come to fruition, with the Castleton Bowling Club still in existence on the same site to this day.
