Wega (born 2001) is a Swedish Warmblood mare who won the individual silver medal at the eventing competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, [1] [2] with Sara Algotsson Ostholt as the rider. [2] Wega was by the stallion Irco Mena, and out of La Fair (by the Swedish stallion Labrador), who was on the 4th place-finishing 2012 Olympic team with her daughter. Wega was also a member of the Swedish team at the 2011 European Championships.
Ice hockey tournaments have been staged at the Olympic Games since 1920. The men's tournament was introduced at the 1920 Summer Olympics and was transferred permanently to the Winter Olympic Games program in 1924, in France. The women's tournament was first held at the 1998 Winter Olympics.

Sweden sent 112 athletes to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin trying to win their first gold medal since the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. A total of 99 athletes were selected, and they competed in nine of the fifteen Winter Olympic sports. When the medals were summed up, Sweden had managed seven gold medals, two silver and five bronze, making it Sweden's best result ever in the Winter Olympics in terms of both medals and gold medals earned, and gave Sweden a 6th place in the medal table.
Charlotta Eva Schelin is a Swedish former professional footballer who most recently played as a striker for FC Rosengård of the Damallsvenskan. She made her debut for the Sweden national team in March 2004 and was appointed joint captain alongside Caroline Seger in October 2012. Sara Kristina Thunebro is a Swedish former footballer who was a defender for the Sweden women's national team. At club level Thunebro played for Eskilstuna United DFF, Tyresö FF and Djurgårdens IF of the Damallsvenskan, as well as FFC Frankfurt of the Frauen-Bundesliga. Making her international debut in 2004, Thunebro won 132 caps and represented her country at the 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women's Championship. She also played at the 2007, 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups, as well as the 2008 and 2012 Olympic football tournaments. An attacking left-back, her trademark on the field was her white headband.

Sara Mustonen is a Swedish racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Women's Continental Team Chevalmeire Cycling Team. Prior to becoming a cyclist she was a boxer. She took up cycle racing after working as a bicycle courier. She competed in the women's road race at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence. Her father is Finnish.
Sara Anne Eriksson is a retired amateur Swedish freestyle wrestler, who competed in the women's middleweight category. Considered one of the world's top female wrestlers of her decade, Eriksson has yielded a remarkable tally of fourteen career medals, including two golds at the World Championships and three more at the European Championships. She also had an opportunity to compete for Sweden at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing tenth in the 63-kg division. Before her sporting career ended shortly after the Games, Eriksson trained as a member of the wrestling team for Örgryte Sporting Club in Gothenburg, under her personal coach and husband Pierre Dikanda.
La Fair was a dark brown mare horse who competed in the eventing competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2013 European Equestrian championships. In both cases, she was ridden by Linda Algotsson. La Fair made 28 starts in international competitions with Algotsson during her career. Her daughter, Wega, competed on the same 4th-placed team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Sara Samir Elsayed Mohamed Ahmed is an Egyptian weightlifter who won a bronze medal in the women's 69 kg event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She won the gold medal in the women's 76 kg event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia. Originally from the Ismailia Governorate, Ahmed was encouraged to take part in weightlifting by her family and was competing internationally by 2012. At the senior level, she has earned gold medals at the Mediterranean and African Games, as well as the Arab Championships. In Rio de Janeiro, she became the first Arab woman to receive an Olympic weightlifting medal and the first Egyptian woman to receive an Olympic medal on the podium in any discipline.
