It is located seven miles from La Plata on Rt 6 West. The Goose Bay campground and marina are also located in Welcome. [1] Rosemary Lawn, a plantation owned since the 18th century by the Barnes-Compton family, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. [2]
Pender Island is one of the Southern Gulf Islands located in the Salish Sea, British Columbia, Canada. Pender Island is approximately 34 km2 (13 sq mi) in area and is home to about 2,250 permanent residents, as well as a large seasonal population. Like most of the rest of the Southern Gulf Islands, Pender Island enjoys a sub-Mediterranean climate and features open farmland, rolling forested hills, several lakes and small mountains, as well as many coves and beaches.
Goose Lake is a large alkaline lake in the Goose Lake Valley on the Oregon–California border in the United States. Like many other lakes in the Great Basin, it is a pluvial lake that formed from precipitation and melting glaciers during the Pleistocene epoch. The north portion of the lake is in Lake County, Oregon, and the south portion is in Modoc County, California. The mountains at the north end of the lake are part of the Fremont National Forest, and the south end of the lake is adjacent to Modoc National Forest lands. Most of the valley property around the lake is privately owned agricultural land, though Goose Lake State Recreation Area is on the Oregon side of the lake.

Rosemary Lawn is a historic home and farm complex located at Welcome, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is a rambling, two-story, frame farmhouse. The home is believed to be a largely rebuilt version of a house of similar size and configuration that was built between 1844 and 1847, when it was part of the estate of Barnes Compton inherited from his mother, Mary Key (Barnes) Compton. As Barnes Compton was a minor until 1851, the plantation was managed by Wilson Compton, his paternal uncle and guardian, who added improvements such as the house.

The Tuckerton Seaport is a working maritime village and museum located in Tuckerton, a borough situated on the Jersey Shore, within Ocean County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Edgewood, also known as the John Boyd House, is a historic home located at Bunker Hill, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It was built in 1839 and is a two-story, five-bay, brick dwelling with a gable roof in the Greek Revival style. The entrance features a semi-elliptical transom and sidelights. The building has a two-story rear ell. The property includes a small log slave cabin.
Greenwood is a historic plantation house located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. It consists of a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, center block dating to the late-18th or early-19th century, with one-story wings dated to 1823–1824. The original section has a hall-parlor plan dwelling. In 1825, Greenwood received as visitors the Marquis de Lafayette and former President James Monroe during Lafayette's celebrated tour as "guest of the nation." During the American Civil War Federal troops occupied the house and plantation and placed a cannon on the lawn.
Jonesville Methodist Campground is a historic Methodist campground located near Jonesville, Lee County, Virginia. The property consists of a broad lawn where the congregation erect their tents, and the permanent pavilion-like auditorium. The auditorium is a gable roofed structure measuring 76 feet long and 36 feet wide, with a 12 feet deep shed addition. The camp ground land was given to the trustees of the Methodist Church in 1827 by Elkanah Wynn.
Aspen Lawn, also known as V.T. Drewey Farm and Rawles Tract, is a historic plantation house located near Drewryville, Southampton County, Virginia. It was built about 1798, and is a two-story, five-bay, double pile timber frame dwelling. It has a standing seam metal hipped roof, four exterior end chimneys, and sits on a brick foundation. The house has Greek Revival and Federal design elements. The front facade features an imposing, two-story, pedimented portico sheltering the main entrance. Also on the property are the contributing tobacco barn, and the ruins of a barn and smokehouse.
Oak Lawn is a historic plantation house and national historic district located near Huntsboro, Granville County, North Carolina. The plantation house was built about 1820, and is a two-story, five-bay, transitional Federal / Georgian / Greek Revival style heavy timber frame dwelling. Also on the property are the contributing one-room former dwelling, smokehouse, barn, office, two-room kitchen, a small mortise and tenon barn and attached shed, a long frame packhouse, frame chicken barn, frame corn crib, and frame packhouse.
Locust Lawn is a historic tobacco plantation house and national historic district located near Oxford, Granville County, North Carolina. It was built about 1855 by Armistead Ravenscroft Burwell, a descendant of the prominent Burwell Family of Virginia and is a two-story, three-bay, T-shaped Greek Revival style dwelling. It has a two-story rear ell, one-story kitchen wing, brick cellar and central front porch. Also on the property are the contributing six log tobacco barns, two frame barns, frame corncrib, overseer's house, and Burwell Family cemetery.

It encompasses seven contributing buildings and one contributing site, the farm landscape. The house was built about 1816 and expanded about 1850. It is a two-story, five-bay, Federal style frame dwelling. Also on the property are the contributing carriage house (1840s), an office (1858), a slave house, a vegetable storage structure, a dairy, and other food and storage buildings.
