Snap! is a German Eurodance group formed in 1989 by producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. The act has been through a number of line-up changes over the years, including American singers, songwriters and rappers Thea Austin, Turbo B, and Penny Ford. Their best known hits are "The Power" and "Rhythm Is a Dancer", both of which took the No. 1 spot in multiple countries.

"Pas toi" is a 1985 song recorded by French singer-songwriter and composer Jean-Jacques Goldman. It was the third and last single of his fourth studio album Non homologué and was released in April 1986. Fully composed by Goldman, it was successful in France.

The song was first performed live during the Opening ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast as official theme of the games. Goodrem wore a custom-made outfit designed by Zian Couture, and was supported by 15 drummers and a 72-piece choir. Immediately following the performance, Goodrem wrote on Twitter: "What an incredible feeling performing at the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Gold Coast #CommonwealthGames! Truly honoured."
