Welles is an American rock musician. He previously performed under the name Jeh Sea Wells. He was also the front man for the band Dead Indian, formed in 2012, and Cosmic-American, formed sometime in 2015. [2]
Wells grew up in Ozark, Arkansas. [3] Under the name Jeh Sea Wells, Wells began his career around 2012, releasing home-made recordings of his music, putting them up on sites such as SoundCloud and Bandcamp. He released several albums and loose tracks on these sites, before eventually taking them down later. He formed the band Dead Indian sometime in 2012, along with Dirk Porter and Simon Martin. It was during this time he also began using the name "Breck Shipley". In 2014, he released a song titled Summer, [2] and shortly afterwards, another song titled Xmas 97 under his "Jeh Sea Wells" name. [4] In 2015, as part of Pigeons and Planes Nirvana cover song compilation Teenage Angst Has Paid Off Well, Wells recorded a cover of Heart-Shaped Box. [5]
Dead Indian released two albums, Lead Me to the Sky and When We Live, as well as one EP, Grey, during their tenure. It was announced Dead Indian was to break up on July 21, 2015, after one last concert, which was held on August 7, 2015, at The Smoke & Barrel Tavern in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They released one final collection of covers they frequently played live, Far Out, about a month later. In September 2015, he and Dead Indian drummer Simon Martin formed a new band called Cosmic American along with Skyler Greene and Blake Foster. They played three songs on Fayetteville Public Television in April 2016, which was uploaded to YouTube. The band began recording an album but broke up before it was released after playing a final show on July 15, 2016.
In early 2017, Wells decided to rebrand his music going forward as Welles. He has released one single with a band as Welles, Are You Feeling Like Me, along with its B-side Into Ashes. In March 2017, Welles released a song titled "Life Like Mine" from his upcoming EP titled Codeine on C3 Records. [6] In May 2017, Welles released a music video for the song "Life Like Mine", from the EP Codeine. [7] He released the album Red Trees and White Trashes on June 15, 2018. [8]
During the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, Wells began releasing a series of EPs on his Bandcamp, starting with non-essential business, an EP that moved away from his traditional sound, and towards a self-described "Jazz funk" sound. He would go on to release two more that year, Q2, self-described as "country folk americana whatever" and Joe Dirt Cobain, which would see him return to his alternative rock sound.

Bryan David "Butch" Vig is an American musician, record producer, and songwriter who is the drummer and co-producer of the rock band Garbage. Known for producing the diamond-selling Nirvana album Nevermind (1991), Vig also produced for several other alternative rock acts of the 1990s, including the Smashing Pumpkins, L7, and Sonic Youth. Some notable production credits of Vig include L7's Bricks are Heavy (1992) and the Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream (1993).
The Beta Band were a Scottish musical group formed in 1996. Their style was described as being "folktronica", although it was mainly a blend of folk, psychedelia, electronica, experimental rock and trip hop, often involving stylistic experimentation. Despite inner conflict and the eventual decline of the group, they became critically acclaimed after releasing their first few recordings and achieved a cult following as they began releasing studio albums, before disbanding in 2004. They were praised by members of both Radiohead and Oasis, the former of which chose them to open for their concerts in 2001. The band's music has been featured in multiple films, including High Fidelity and It's All Gone Pete Tong.
Jonathan Mark Foreman is an American musician who is the lead singer, guitarist, primary songwriter, and co-founder of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. He formed the band in 1996 with drummer Chad Butler and his brother Tim Foreman on bass guitar. Keyboardist Jerome Fontamillas and guitarist Drew Shirley later joined the band. As a solo act, Foreman has released 14 extended plays and one studio album.
Spot the Pigeon is the first EP by English progressive rock band Genesis, released on 20 May 1977. Its three songs were originally written for the group's eighth studio album Wind & Wuthering (1976), but were not included in the final track selection. It was the final studio release to feature guitarist Steve Hackett prior to his departure from Genesis.
D. I. Go Pop is the second studio album by English post-rock band Disco Inferno, released on 28 February 1994. After forming as a post-punk band in 1989, the band subsequently worked towards an innovative production approach that incorporated found sound elements through extensive use of digital samplers. The Wonder Years is an American rock band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formed in July 2005. The band currently consists of Dan "Soupy" Campbell, Casey Cavaliere, Matt Brasch, Josh Martin, Nick Steinborn and Mike Kennedy. They have released seven full-length albums, two EPs, and several splits/compilations. The group is currently signed to Hopeless Records. Their name originates from a paper that Campbell read that was written by one of his after-school educators titled "The Wonder Years."
Barely Real is the 1992 extended play (EP) by the American indie rock band Codeine. After releasing their previous album Frigid Stars LP in 1990, the group accepted an invitation from the quartet Bastro to tour in Europe in 1991. Following the tour, the group was invited to record a single for Sub Pop Singles Club and attempted to record their follow-up album The White Birch in 1992. The recording sessions proved to be disastrous for the group since they found themselves often with unusable tracks over several different studios. As Codeine could not record enough material for a full-length album, they decided to release what tracks they had as an EP.
