WestProp Holdings is a real estate development company in Zimbabwe. It is the first real estate company to be listed on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange. [1] [2]

Background

WestProp Holdings Ltd, formerly West Property Company Pvt Ltd was founded in 2007 by Kenneth Sharpe as a publicly traded property development company. [3] The company is known for its flagship developments projects that include Gunhill Rise, [4] Millennium Heights, [5] [6] Pokugara residential estate [7] and mixed use smart city projects at Pomona city, [8] [9] Warren Hills Golf Estate [10] and Mall of Zimbabwe, [11] [12] a joint venture with Exemplar. [13] [14]

In 2023, WestProp Holdings was approved for listing on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange [15] becoming the first real estate company to list on the VFEX [16] and the listing became the first equity capital raise by way of preference shares in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the VFEX stock market. It was established in 2020 as a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) to operate in the Victoria Falls special economic zone. The VFEX's trading currency is in United States Dollars allowing the exchange to shield investors from exchange control risk.
