The West Pasco Historical Society Museum and Library is located at 6431 Circle Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida, United States. The museum's exhibits include Native American arrowhead and artifacts, clothing, household items, antiques and decorative items, tools, and historic photographs.
Elroy M. Avery's personal collection of over 1,000 books was used to help establish the Avery Library and Historical Society on April 10, 1920 (which became the New Port Richey Public Library and West Pasco Historical Society Museum and Library). [2] [3]
The West Pasco Historical Society was formed in 1973. In 1974-75 the organization published a hardcover history, West Pasco's Heritage. The building which houses the organization originally served as the Seven Springs schoolhouse from about 1915 to 1925. In 1981 it was moved to Sims Park and was dedicated as the home of the historical society in 1983. The library wing was added in 1992. In 2011, the museum was renamed the Rao Musunuru, M. D., Museum and Library, to honor a major donor to the project of remodeling the building.

The museum is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Elroy McKendree Avery, Ph.D., LL.D. was school principal, politician, author, and historian. Avery was an Ohio State Senator in the 1890s before becoming an early resident of west Pasco County, Florida and was the first mayor of New Port Richey, Florida. As an author, Avery wrote school textbooks about physics and chemistry as well as books about the history of the United States, Cleveland, and New Port Richey.
The Captain Avery Museum is a historic home and museum at Shady Side, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story frame building, located on a 0.75-acre (3,000 m2) rectangular lot. The house overlooks the West River and Chesapeake Bay. The two-story historic structure originally was the residence of the Chesapeake Bay waterman, Capt. Salem Avery, and was constructed about 1860. It was expanded in the nineteenth century and further expanded in the 1920s by the National Masonic Fishing and Country Club. The property consists of the main house with additions, three sheds formerly used as bath houses, and a modern boathouse built in 1993 that features the Edna Florence, a locally-built 1937 Chesapeake Bay deadrise workboat.

The Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture is a division of the College of Charleston library system. The center is located on the site of the former Avery Normal Institute in the Harleston village district at 125 Bull Street in Charleston, South Carolina. This historic secondary school trained Black students for professional careers and leadership roles, and served as a hub for Charleston’s African-American community from 1865 to 1954.
The Kandiyohi County Historical Society (KCHS) is a local history museum in Willmar, Minnesota, United States.
