West Sea Shipyard is a shipbuilding company of the Martifer Group, created in 2014 after the extinction of ENVC Shipyard. West Sea is dedicated to the construction of various types of ships, such as cruise ships [1] and offshore patrol vessels. [2] Since 2014 it has built more than 18 ships and repaired more than 50 ships, such as container ships, cankers, platform supply vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships, reefer ships and tugs. [3]

Viana do Castelo is a municipality and seat of the district of Viana do Castelo in the Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2021 was 85,778, in an area of 319.02 square kilometres (123.17 sq mi). Her sister ship is Silver Whisper, and both ships were built by the Mariotti Shipyard in Genoa, Italy. They both have a high space-to-passenger ratio at 74, providing more space per passenger than any other cruise ship. Space ratio is calculated by dividing a vessel's gross tonnage by its passenger capacity. The passenger-to-crew ratio is also high, at 1.31 to 1.

Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo (ENVC) is a medium-sized shipyard in business since 1944, located in the town of Viana do Castelo, on the Atlantic Coast in the very north of Portugal. Occupying an area of 400,000 square metres and employing 625 people, it is a major Portuguese shipbuilder. In 2013 its assets and operations were sub-licensed to Martifer, which renamed them to West Sea Shipyard.
