Westminster Rovers F.C. was a Welsh football club based in Wrexham, Wales. [2]

History

Formed sometime around 1889 as the team of the Westminster Colliery, Westminster Rovers were runners up in the Welsh Cup in 1892 and 1894, on both occasions losing to Chirk. They were also founding members of the Welsh Senior League, a competition which they won in 1894. They are last mentioned in 1897. The name reappeared in 1919, for one season in the Ffrith and District League.

The Denbighshire League was a league in the early days of Welsh football. Originally titled the Welsh Senior League, it ran from 1890 until 1902. It was mainly made up of teams from the Wrexham area, with sporadic entrants from Mid Wales and the North Wales Coast. It was one of the first organised Football Leagues in Wales. The league was resurrected in September 1903 under the name the Wrexham and District League.

The 1890–91 Welsh Amateur Cup was the first season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Wrexham Victoria who defeated Flint Town 4-1 in the final.

The 1891–92 Welsh Amateur Cup was the second season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Llandudno Swifts who defeated Wrexham Gymnasium 2-1 in the final.

The 1894–95 Welsh Amateur Cup was the fifth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Caergwrle Wanderers who defeated Bangor Reserves 2-1 in the final, at Flint.

The 1895–96 Welsh Amateur Cup was the sixth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Queensferry Ironopolis who defeated Shrewsbury Athletic 3-0 in the final, at The Racecourse, Wrexham.

Wrexham Hibernians Football Club was a short-lived Welsh association football club based in Wrexham who played in the Welsh Cup during the 1890–91 season. They were nicknamed the Irishmen and were made up of people from the Irish diaspora. They were first mentioned in 1889 and last appeared in the local press in 1891. They played their home games off Bradley Road, Wrexham.

Rhostyllen Victoria was a Welsh football club based in Rhostyllen, Wrexham during the Victorian era.

Wrexham Excelsior were a football club who played in the Welsh Cup in 1886–87, and 1887–88 season. The football club are first mentioned in 1884, and are presumed to have folded around 1895.

Brymbo Institute Cricket and Football Club was a multi purpose sports club based in Brymbo, Wales.

Gwersyllt Foresters were a Welsh football team from the village of Gwersyllt, Wrexham.

Llandudno Swifts were a football club from Llandudno who existed during the late Victorian era. The club were first mentioned in 1889. They competed in the Combination, North Wales Coast League, Welsh Cup, FA Cup and North Wales Coast Cup. The club was wound up in 1901 after a period of professionalism. Following the demise of Llandudno Swifts, a new team Llandudno Amateurs were formed.

The 1881 Welsh Cup Final, was the fourth in the football competition. It was contested by Druids and Newtown White Star at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham.

Rhosllanerchrugog F.C. was a football club based in Rhosllanerchrugog, Wales. The club was often simply called Rhos.
