Willa Sandmeyer is an American television news reporter based in Los Angeles.

Sandmeyer grew up in Washington, D.C., and attended Walla Walla College, [1] graduating with a Bachelor degree of Arts in Journalism. [2] After starting her career at KNJO-FM in Thousand Oaks, California, [1] she worked for KEYT in Santa Barbara [3] and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. [4]

Sandmeyer joined KTLA in 1993,[ citation needed ] and her coverage included the wildfires in California. [5] She won an Emmy Award for her coverage of the Malibu fires that year [6] and helped the station win an Emmy for the live reporting of the 1994 Northridge earthquake. In 1999 Sandmeyer was one of a group involved in an age discrimination suit against KTLA. [7] She won another Emmy in 2004 for her contributions to KTLA morning news and won Associated Press Radio-Television awards in 2002 and 2005 as well as a Los Angeles Press Club Award. [2] She was laid off in 2008 as part of a round of staff cutbacks. [8]

In 2012, she joined radio station KCLU-FM as the voice of the station's local inserts during Morning Edition and was named morning anchor in 2015. [9]

Joel Connable was an American television host, news anchor, and reporter for KOMO-TV in Seattle, Washington. He also worked as a travel journalist, running a travel website and a company called Travel TV Inc. He was a former evening news anchor at NBC6 in Miami. He was named "Best News Anchor," by the New Times Magazine in 2009. Connable made regular appearances as a travel expert on Fox News, CBS television stations, KTLA, the BBC, and other television networks. Connable also anchored and reported the news for CBS in Los Angeles and South Carolina as well as for MSNBC and Early Today, on NBC. The KTLA 5 Morning News is an American morning television news program airing on KTLA, a CW-owned-and-operated station in Los Angeles, California owned by Nexstar Media Group. The program broadcasts each weekday from 4 am to 12 pm Pacific Time. The 4-7 am portion is a general news/traffic/weather format; the 7 am-12 pm portion also features news, traffic, and weather but emphasizes entertainment and other light-hearted stories. Weekend editions of the program also air on Saturday and Sunday from 6-11 a.m.

Ellen K. is an American radio personality in the Los Angeles, California market and a television host. She is the host of the Ellen K Radio Show on KOST 103.5 FM, and the nationally-syndicated weekend program Ellen K Weekend Show on iHeartMedia AC-formatted stations like Lite FM in New York and in Chicago. From April 1990 to October 2015 she worked at KOST's sister station 102.7 KIIS-FM, co-hosting the Rick Dees morning show and later the On Air with Ryan Seacrest show. On October 19, 2015, Ellen took over the morning show at KOST after longtime morning host Mark Wallengren moved to afternoons.

Christopher Rocky Burrous was an American journalist and host of the KTLA 5 Weekend Morning News in Los Angeles. He had a 20-year career in television broadcasting at various news stations before he died at age 43.
