William Ampem Darko is a Ghanaian politician and civil servant. He was the Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation from 2007 to 2010. [1] [2] [3]
Prior to joining the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation,he was the chairman of the New Patriotic Party's Eastern Region Finance Committee. In 2004,he unsuccessfully stood for the Kade seat during the parliamentary primaries. [4] He lost to Ofosu Asamoah. [4]
George Darko is a Ghanaian burger-highlife musician,guitarist,vocalist,composer and songwriter,who has been on the music scene since the late 1960s. Darko was popular in the 1970s,1980s and 1990s,and his songs are some of the most timeless and enduring highlife tracks in Ghana's music circles. Some of his contemporaries include Ben Brako,C.K. Mann,Daddy Lumba,Ernest Nana Acheampong,Nana Kwame Ampadu,Pat Thomas,among others. He is widely considered to be one of the pioneers of burger-highlife with his first hit "Ako Te Brofo" which was released in 1983. The song remains popular among Ghanaians both at home and abroad,and is still played at funerals and parties.
Michael Kojo Essien is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder and is currently a member of Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland's coaching staff. He was also capped for the Ghana national team more than 50 times. During his prime,Essien was considered one of the best midfielders in the world.
