William Koskei Chemitei (born 29 December 1970) is a former Kenyan middle-distance runner who won a gold medal at the 1988 World Junior Championships in Sudbury in the 3000 metres steeplechase event. [1]

He represented his country three times in the junior race at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships from 1987 to 1989, finishing in the top six on each occasion and sharing in the team gold in 1988 and 1989. [2]

World Athletics Cross Country Championships is the most important competition in international cross country running. Formerly held annually and organised by World Athletics, it was inaugurated in 1973, when it replaced the International Cross Country Championships. It was an annual competition until 2011, when World Athletics changed it to a biennial event.

Morocco, a regional power in the sport, did not send a team. Syria entered for the first time.

He was the bronze medallist at the 1985 IAAF World Indoor Games and a silver medallist at the 1989 Summer Universiade. He was a two-time national champion, with one win outdoors and one indoors. He represented his country at the IAAF World Indoor Championships on two occasions and England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games.

Alberto Cruz is a Mexican former racewalker. He was a world junior champion and took a bronze medal at the 1993 IAAF World Race Walking Cup. Amongst his senior honours are gold medals from the Central American and Caribbean and Ibero-American Championships.

Thomas Osano is a Kenyan former long-distance runner who competed across track, road, and cross country running disciplines. His greatest individual honour was a 10,000 metres gold medal at the 1991 All-Africa Games. He also shared in a team gold medal with Kenya at the 1993 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.

María Reyes Sobrino Spanish racewalker

María Reyes Sobrino Jiménez is a Spanish former racewalking athlete who competed mainly in the 3000 metres race walk and 10 kilometres race walk. Her greatest achievement was a gold medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1988. She was a five-time participant at the IAAF World Racewalking Cup and twice a World Championships in Athletics competitor.

Róbert Banai is a Hungarian middle-distance runner.
