William "Willie" Eugene Stinnett III [1] [2] (born December 17, 1985) [3] is a Guamanian basketball player. He is a point guard for the Guam national basketball team. [4]
Stinnett graduated from Father Dueñas Memorial School in Guam in 2004. [5] He subsequently moved to the United States, where he played two seasons of college basketball for Wenatchee Valley College. [6] [7] His sophomore year was cut short after he sustained a season-ending injury in December 2005. [8] He later played college basketball in the Philippines as well. [5]
In September 2015, Stinnett auditioned for the Hawke's Bay Hawks and other teams during a tour of New Zealand that followed Guam's bronze medal performance at the 2015 FIBA 3x3 Oceania Championships in Australia. The tryout was successful, and in December 2015, he signed with the Hawks for the 2016 New Zealand NBL season. [3] [5] [9] He appeared in 17 of the Hawks' 18 games in 2016, averaging 7.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. [10]
Stinnett made his debut for the Guam national basketball team in 2005. [11] In July 2015, he captained Team Guam to the gold medal at the Pacific Games in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. In the gold-medal match against Fiji, Stinnett recorded 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in a 78–61 win. [12]
The Hawke's Bay Hawks are a New Zealand professional basketball team based in Napier. The Hawks compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Pettigrew Green Arena. For sponsorship reasons, they are known as the Taylor Hawks.

Thomas Iain Abercrombie is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). A product of Westlake Boys High School in Auckland, Abercrombie had a short-lived college basketball stint with Washington State before debuting in the Australian NBL in 2008 with the Breakers. Willie James Burton Jr. is an American-New Zealand former professional basketball player who spent 19 seasons playing in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL). Burton came to New Zealand in the mid-1980s to play for Palmerston North and became a league legend. He kept himself in great shape and was still playing top basketball when he turned 40. He won six rebounding titles and ranks as the league's all-time leader around the boards. He finished his career with 4,244 career rebounds, nearly 1,500 rebounds more than the next best individual rebounding total.
