Plot
The plot is based on the first two-story arcs in the manhua series. Xiongba, the chief of the martial arts clan Under Heaven Society, learns from the prophet Nipusa that he will rise to prominence in the jianghu (martial artists' community) with the help of "Wind and Cloud". By chance, he meets two boys – Nie Feng (Wind) and Bu Jingyun (Cloud) – and immediately accepts them as his apprentices. When Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun are grown up, Nipusa reveals to Xiongba that his downfall will also be due to "Wind and Cloud". To prevent this from happening, Xiongba devises an elaborate scheme to make Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun destroy each other, but the plan fails. The rest of the story focuses on the character development of Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun, such as their relationships with their respective lovers, and their journeys to becoming top-notch fighters in the jianghu.
At one point, Xiongba is betrayed by his followers, loses his powers and finds himself at the mercy of Bu Jingyun. He promises to repent and retire permanently from the jianghu, so Bu Jingyun spares him. In the meantime, Juewushen, a Japanese warrior, arrives in China with his clan with the intention of dominating the Chinese jianghu. Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun join forces to defeat Juewushen and drive away the invaders. Towards the end of the series, it is revealed that Xiongba has been secretly plotting to stage a comeback and realise his ambition of ruling the jianghu. Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun combine efforts to overcome Xiongba and restore peace, thus fulfilling Nipusa's prophecy.
Fung Wan or Feng Yun is a Hong Kong wuxia manhua series. It is the first manhua released by Ma Wing-shing in 1989 with the help of his assistant Siu Kit under his own company, Jonesky Publishing. Before the third part, the manhua was originally titled Fung Wan, until the two protagonists – Wind and Cloud – became secondary characters and the manhua was renamed Tin Ha. The story has been adapted into media, most notably the Hong Kong films The Storm Riders (1998) and The Storm Warriors (2009), the video game Fung Wan Online, and the Taiwanese television series Wind and Cloud (2002) and Wind and Cloud II (2004).

The plot is adapted from the 14th century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and other stories about the Three Kingdoms period. Directed by Gao Xixi, the series had a budget of over 160 million RMB and took five years of pre-production work. Shooting of the series commenced in October 2008, and it was released in China in May 2010.
The Storm Warriors is a 2009 Hong Kong wuxia fantasy film produced and directed by the Pang brothers. It is the second live-action film adaptation of artist Ma Wing-shing's manhua series Fung Wan, following the 1998 film The Storm Riders. The Storm Warriors is based on Fung Wan's Japanese Invasion story arc The Death Battle. Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok respectively reprise their roles as Wind and Cloud, who this time find themselves up against Lord Godless, a ruthless Japanese warlord bent on invading China. The film is a co-production between Universe Entertainment and Sil-Metropole Organisation.

The series is directed by Kuk Kwok-leung and features cast members from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The series was first broadcast on 8TV in March 2011 in Malaysia.
Journey to the West is a Chinese television series adapted from the 16th-century novel of the same title. Production for the 66 episodes long series started on 12 September 2009, and it was first broadcast in mainland China on 28 July 2011 on TVS. The series was produced by Zhang Jizhong and was released a year later than another television series of the same title, but with a different cast and crew.
Secret Service of the Imperial Court, also known as Police Pool of Blood, is a 1984 Hong Kong wuxia film produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio and starring Bryan Leung. The film is strikingly similar in style and plot to the 1988 ATV's The Court Secret Agent (錦衣衛), and the 2010 film 14 Blades, which starred Donnie Yen, may have been a remake of it.
Wind and Cloud 2 is a Taiwanese television series based on Hong Kong artist Ma Wing-shing's manhua series Fung Wan. The series was first broadcast on CTV in Taiwan in 2004. Even though the series is marketed as a sequel to Wind and Cloud (2002), it was produced by a different company and is loosely connected to Wind and Cloud. Vincent Zhao and Peter Ho reprised their roles as the titular characters from the first series.

Eight Thousand Li of Cloud and Moon is a Taiwanese television series based on the life of Yue Fei, a Song dynasty general widely regarded as a patriot and national hero in Chinese culture for his role in the Jurchen campaigns against the Song dynasty. The Chinese title of the series comes from a line in Man Jiang Hong, a patriotic poem commonly attributed to Yue Fei. The series was first aired on CTS in Taiwan from 21 November 1988 to 13 January 1989.

It started airing on Dragon TV in mainland China on 9 January 2017, and on TVB Jade in Hong Kong on 8 May 2017.
