The Wine Festival of Cyprus is an annual festival in Limassol, Cyprus, that celebrates wine and winemaking. Since the first festival in 1961, [2] it is organised annually in late August to early September by the Limassol Municipality, at the Municipal Garden. [3]

Commandaria is an amber-coloured sweet dessert wine made in the Commandaria region of Cyprus on the foothills of the Troödos Mountains. While often a fortified wine, through its production method it often reaches high alcohol levels, around 15%, already before fortification. It represents an ancient wine style documented in Cyprus back to 800 BC and has the distinction of being the world's oldest named wine still in production, with the name Commandaria dating back to the crusades in the 12th century.

Nicosia within the city limits is divided into 29 administrative units, according to the latest census. This unit is termed in English as quarter, neighbourhood, parish, enoria or mahalla. These units are: Ayios Andreas, Trypiotis, Nebethane, Tabakhane, Phaneromeni, Ayios Savvas, Omerie, Ayios Antonios, St. John, Taht-el-kale, Chrysaliniotissa, Ayios Kassianos (Kafesli), Kaïmakli, Panayia, St Constantine & Helen, Ayioi Omoloyites, Arab Ahmet, Yeni Jami, Omorfita, Ibrahim Pasha, Mahmut Pasha, Abu Kavouk, St. Luke, Abdi Chavush, Iplik Pazar and Korkut Effendi, Ayia Sophia, Haydar Pasha, Karamanzade, and Yenişehir/Neapolis. The Limassol Carnival is an annual European carnival event held in Limassol, Cyprus. The main parade is held 12 days before the start of Lent, on the Sunday before Ash Monday, 50 days before Orthodox Easter. The festival is a colourful 10-day event of people eating, singing, satire, games, wearing costumes, and attending parties. The festival culminates with a large parade, which includes an array of floats traversing the city.

Omonoia, is a quarter in the municipality of Limassol in the Limassol District of Cyprus. It is situated near the Port of Limassol. The quarter takes its name from the Omonoias Avenue. It borders Saint Spyridonas to the west and Agios Ioannis to the east. Many central avenues go by around Omonoia, namely Pafou Avenue, Omonoias Avenue, Franklin Roosevelt Avenue and Makarios Avenue, making it a high traffic area.
