Winnipeg Pro Wrestling (WPW) is an independent professional wrestling promotion company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The promotion host live events in the city of Winnipeg and post its shows on tape delay on Youtube following their events. As of 2026, WPW has two men's singles championships, one women's singles championship, and one men's tag team championship.
The promotion began in the winter of 2018 with a small show at the Sherbrook Inn, a small bar in Winnipeg's West Broadway neighborhood. The event sold out, and the prmotion moved forward with continued success, selling out more events at larger and larger venues. Co-owners Devin Bray and Ben Kissock are responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations since the very beginning. Winnipeg Pro has been averaging five or so events a year, and has been growing since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets for matches at normal venues which hold a few hundred fans frequently sell out in minutes. [1] [2]
The company has continued story lines across events and regular ringside talent made up of drag queens, security personnel, backstage interviewers and announcers. Devin Bray takes part in the show under the persona of Gene Spungo, a live commentator known for his trademark cowboy hat. WPW has a roster made up of more than 50 wrestlers who are both local, or from out-of-province who travel to Winnipeg regularly for matches. Prominent figures from international promotions such as such as Mercedes Moné, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and more have made appearances at their shows. [3] [4]
The promotion host an annual markee event at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, titled the "Rumble at the Burt". Other major events have taken place at prominent locations in Winnipeg including the West End Cultural Centre, Canada Life Centre, the Manitoba Museum, the Red River Exhibition, Princess Auto Stadium, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Centennial Concert Hall, and many more smaller venues.
