Wintercase is an international festival of electronic music which takes place in clubs in Palermo, Italy.It is designed and produced by Alcapone Records and Mira Communication.
The festival includes a variety of styles which fall under the genre of electronic music, such as electro, minimal, dub, and drum and bass.
The festival also includes an educational cultural section called the WiLAB, which is designed to educate the public on the subject of electronic arts and their applications in music, visual arts, video art, and photography. WiLAB engages in academic and institutional collaborations with entities such as Studio Azzurro (Milan), the University of Palermo, LUM (Laboratorio Universitario del Mediterraneo), and Antithesis (Palermo).
The 2010 edition provided a structured program of workshops, lectures, classes, and concerts. [1]

The University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts's Interactive Media & Games Division first accepted M.F.A. students in 2002. STEIM was a center for research and development of new musical instruments in the electronic performing arts, located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Beginning in the 1970's, STEIM became known as a pioneering center for electronic music, where the specific context of electronic music was always strongly related to the physical and direct actions of a musician. The ONCE Group was a collection of musicians, visual artists, architects, and film-makers who wished to create an environment in which artists could explore and share techniques and ideas in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The group was responsible for hosting the ONCE Festival of New Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan, between 1961 and 1966. Buraka Som Sistema was an electronic dance music project from Portugal, specializing in a fusion of techno beats with the African zouk and kuduro genre. It is generally credited with creating the "zouk bass" and "progressive kuduro" variant and has received an MTV European Music Award. In 2015 Buraka Som Sistema said they would be taking an hiatus starting in 2016, and on 1 July 2016 they performed live for the last time in Lisbon.
