Karin Büttner-Janz is a German medical doctor who won world and Olympic gold medals in artistic gymnastics for East Germany. From 1990 to 2012, she was chief physician of clinics in Berlin, Germany. She has a foundation named Spinefoundation.
Fabian Hambüchen is a retired German gymnast who was a four-time Olympian and was Olympic, World, and European champion. Fabian also won gold medals at European Games and at 2015 Summer Universiade. He has a full set of Olympics medals, one in each colour, as he is the 2016 Olympic champion, 2012 Olympic silver medalist and 2008 Olympic bronze medalist on the individual horizontal bar event. He became World champion on horizontal bar in 2007 Stuttgart.
Angelika Hellmann is a retired German gymnast. She competed at the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a silver and a bronze medal in the team competitions, respectively. Her best individual results were fifth place in the floor exercise in 1972 and on the balance beam in 1976. She won two more silver medals with the East German team, and an individual all-around bronze, at the world championships in 1970 and 1974. At the European championships, she won three medals in 1971 and 1973, in the vault and uneven bars.
Roland Brückner is a retired East German gymnast. He competed at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze and a silver medal in the team competition, respectively. Individually he won a gold in the floor exercise and two bronze medals in the vault and parallel bars in 1980. He won two more gold medals in the floor exercise at the 1979 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and 1981 European championships. He missed the 1984 Summer Olympics due to their boycott by East Germany and competed at the Friendship Games instead, winning a gold on the floor and a silver in the team competition.
Shigeru Kasamatsu is a retired Japanese artistic gymnast. He competed at the 1972 Olympics and won a gold medal with the Japanese team. Individually he won a silver on parallel bars and bronze medals on the floor and horizontal bar. Kasamatsu won six world titles in 1974 and 1978. The Kasamatsu vault is named after him. In 2006, he was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. His wife Kazue Hanyu and son Akihiro Kasamatsu are also retired Olympic gymnasts.

Helmut Bantz was a German gymnast and Olympic champion. He won a gold medal in the vault at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, competing for the United Team of Germany.

Siegfried Fülle is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won two bronze medals with the German team, in 1964 and 1968. Individually his best achievement was sharing seventh place on the vault in 1964. He won one more bronze medal in the team competition at the 1966 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Matthias Brehme is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won two bronze medals with the East German team. Individually his best achievement was shared sixth place in the vault in 1972. He won two more bronze team medals at the world championships in 1966 and 1970 and finished second in the pommel horse at the European championships in 1972.
Reinhard Rychly is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze medal with the East German team. Individually his best achievement was 15th place on the horizontal bar.
Wolfgang Thüne is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze medal with the East German team. Individually his best achievement was seventh place in the horizontal bar. He won two more bronze team medals at the world championships in 1970 and 1974 as well as individual silver in the horizontal bar in 1974. At the 1975 European championships in Bern, he fled to West Germany with the help of his rival Eberhard Gienger. In 1977 he won the national all-round title in West Germany competing for TuS 04 Leverkusen. After retirement he worked as a gymnastics coach at the same club.
Lutz Mack is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze and a silver medal with the East German team, respectively. His best individual result was ninth place in the rings in 1976. He won four bronze medals at the 1974 and 1978 world championships and 1979 European championships.
Mónika Császár is a retired Hungarian gymnast. She competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze medal in the team competition. Her best individual result was fourth place on the balance beam. She won another bronze team medal at the 1974 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Matthias Fahrig is a German gymnast. He competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events except for the rings and pommel horse and finished in eighth place with the German team. His best individual results were 32nd place on the horizontal bar and in the floor exercise.
