The Women in Arts Award is an award established in 2019 by UN Women Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute, and presented as part of HeForShe Ukraine's annual arts week in March. [2] Only women are nominated for the award; its purpose is to bring attention to the achievements of female artists in Ukraine, who have been historically overlooked by the Ukrainian arts scene. [3]
Six women receive the Women in Arts Award every year, in six categories:
Winners of the Women in Arts Award receive a statuette designed by Ukrainian sculptor Maria Kulikovska. The unique figurine is designed to look like two hands whose palms are conjoined, symbolizing support among women. [8]
The Pulitzer Prize for Criticism has been presented since 1970 to a newspaper writer in the United States who has demonstrated 'distinguished criticism'. Recipients of the award are chosen by an independent board and officially administered by Columbia University. The Pulitzer Committee issues an official citation explaining the reasons for the award.
Lesya Ukrainka was one of Ukrainian literature's foremost writers, best known for her poems and plays. She was also an active political, civil, and feminist activist.
Oksana Stefanivna Zabuzhko is a Ukrainian novelist, poet, and essayist. Her works have been translated into several languages.
Film criticism is the analysis and evaluation of films and the film medium. In general, film criticism can be divided into two categories: Academic criticism by film scholars, who study the composition of film theory and publish their findings and essays in books and journals, and general journalistic criticism that appears regularly in press newspapers, magazines and other popular mass-media outlets. Academic film criticism rarely takes the form of a review; instead it is more likely to analyse the film and its place in the history of its genre, the industry and film history as a whole.
Shevchenko National Prize is the highest state prize of Ukraine for works of culture and arts awarded since 1961. It is named after the inspirer of Ukrainian national revival Taras Shevchenko. It is one of the five state prizes of Ukraine that are awarded for achievements in various fields.

Aliona Olehivna Savranenko, better known by her stage name Alyona Alyona, is a Ukrainian rapper and songwriter. She released her debut album, Pushka (Пушка), in 2019, followed by an extended play the same year, V khati MA.
The Ukrainian Institute is a public institution of Ukraine that aims to represent Ukrainian culture in the world and form a positive image of Ukraine abroad. The institute was founded by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2017 and is affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. It fully began its activities in the summer of 2018, after the appointment to the position of General Director Volodymyr Sheiko, as a result of an open competition and the creation of a team of specialists.
Alisa Solomon, is a writer, Professor of Journalism, and the Director of the Arts and Culture concentration at the Columbia Journalism School. Born in 1956, Solomon served as a story consultant for the documentary on the musical Fiddler on the Roof titled Fiddler: A Miracle of Miracles. Solomon has written two award-winning books: Re-Dressing the Canon: Essays on Theater and Gender and Wonder of Wonders: A Cultural History of Fiddler on the Roof. Additionally, she has served as a reporter for The Village Voice, The New York Times, The Nation, and many other publications.
Mariia Serhiivna Berlinska, or Mariya Berlinsʼka is a Ukrainian military volunteer and women's rights advocate. She was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity in February 2014 and subsequently volunteered for the war in Donbas as an aerial reconnaissance drone operator. Returning from the front, Berlinska founded a free school to train other Ukrainian military volunteers in aerial reconnaissance.
The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) (Arabic: الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون) is an independent, non-profit NGO that funds individuals and cultural organizations in the Arab region. By awarding grants for partial funding of cultural projects and other forms of support, AFAC facilitates projects in the fields of cinema, performing arts, literature, music and visual arts, and encourages cultural exchange, research and cooperation across the Arab region and globally.

Oksana Leonidivna Cherkashyna is a Ukrainian theater and film actress. She has won several important honors in addition to being acknowledged for her exceptional performances on stage and cinema.
Oksana Petrivna Lutsyshyna is a Ukrainian poet, professor and writer who is a recipient of the Shevchenko National Prize, and member of PEN Ukraine. She primarily writes poetry and fiction in Ukrainian, with additional work on blogs for the feminist website Povaha.
