2014 Asian Games 17th edition of the Asian Games

The 2014 Asian Games, officially known as the 17th Asian Games, was a pan-Asian multi-sport event held in Incheon, South Korea. This was the third time South Korea hosted the Asian Games, and its' first time since 2002. Previously, it had also hosted the 1986 edition of the games.

Incheon Metropolitan City in Seoul National Capital Area, South Korea

Incheon, officially the Incheon Metropolitan City (인천광역시), is a city located in northwestern South Korea, bordering Seoul and Gyeonggi to the east. Inhabited since the Neolithic, Incheon was home to just 4,700 people when it became an international port in 1883. Today, about 3 million people live in the city, making it South Korea's third most-populous city after Seoul and Busan. The city's growth has been assured in modern times with the development of its port due to its natural advantages as a coastal city and its proximity to the South Korean capital. It is part of the Seoul Capital Area, along with Seoul itself and Gyeonggi Province, forming the world's fifth largest metropolitan area by population.

South Korea Republic in East Asia

South Korea is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and sharing a land border with North Korea. The name Korea is derived from Goguryeo which was one of the great powers in East Asia during its time, ruling most of the Korean Peninsula, Manchuria, parts of the Russian Far East and Inner Mongolia under Gwanggaeto the Great. Its capital, Seoul, is a major global city and half of South Korea's over 51 million people live in the Seoul Capital Area, the fourth largest metropolitan economy in the world.

Sanda is an unsanctioned fight is a Chinese self-defense system and combat sport. Amateur Sanda allows kicks, punches, knees (not to the head), and throws.

A total of sixteen competitors from sixteen different countries competed in this event, limited to fighters whose body weight was less than 60 kilograms.

Kong Hongxing from China won the gold medal after beating Jean Claude Saclag of the Philippines in gold medal bout 2–0, Kong won both periods by the same score of 5–0. The bronze medal was shared by Narender Grewal from India and Kang Yeong-sik of South Korea.

Narender Grewal is an Indian wushu competitor. He was born in Hisar, Haryana, India. He won a bronze medal in the men's 60-kg sanda at the 2014 Asian Games.
