From 1999 to 2014,he was a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature,serving as the legislature's Chairperson of Committees and then as its Majority Chief Whip. He was also the Deputy Provincial Secretary of the Gauteng branch of his political party,the African National Congress,from 1998 to 2010.
Thamsanqa Brian Hlongwa is a South African politician who was Gauteng's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health from March 2006 to May 2009. He is a member of the African National Congress and served multiple terms on the party's Provincial Executive Committee in Gauteng. He was also the party's Chief Whip in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature until October 2018,when he resigned amid a corruption scandal relating to his tenure as Health MEC. He was charged with fraud and corruption in late 2021.
Elias Khabisi Mosunkutu was a South African politician who served in the Gauteng Executive Council from 1999 to 2010 and in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 1995 to 2011. He was a member of the African National Congress (ANC).

Richard Themba Mthembu is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2009. He was formerly KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council for Agriculture and Rural Development from June 2016 to May 2019. He has also served as Provincial Secretary of the South African Communist Party in KwaZulu-Natal since 2002.
Norman Mabasa is a South African medical doctor and politician who served as Limpopo's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health and Social Development from March 2012 until July 2013. During that time,he represented the African National Congress in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature. Mabasa was the chairperson of the South African Medical Association before his appointment as MEC and he remains a general practitioner by profession.
Nikiwe Julia Num,also known as Nikiwe Mangqo,is a South African politician who has served as Mayor of the North West's Dr Kenneth Kaundra District Municipality since 2021. She formerly served in the North West Provincial Legislature,representing the African National Congress (ANC) from 2004 to 2008 and then the Congress of the People (Cope) from 2009 to 2014. She has since rejoined the ANC,which nominated her to her current office during the 2021 local elections.
