Aventura is an American bachata group formed in The Bronx, New York. With the lineup always consisting of the members Romeo Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos, and Max Santos, they are regarded as one of the most influential Latin groups of all time. All of the members are of Dominican descent, although Romeo is also half Puerto Rican on his mother's side. They were the first major bachata act to have originated in the United States instead of the Dominican Republic. The group was integral to the evolution of bachata music and are the pioneers of the modern bachata sound.
Marco Antonio Muñiz, known professionally as Marc Anthony, is an American singer and songwriter. He is the top selling salsa artist of all time. A four-time Grammy Award, eight-time Latin Grammy Award and twenty-nine-time Lo Nuestro Awards winner, he has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide.
Linda Bell Viera Caballero, better known as La India, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter of salsa, house music and Latin pop. La India has been nominated for both Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Salsa Album for the Intensamente La India Con Canciones De Juan Gabriel album.
Todo a Su Tiempo is the second studio album by American recording artist Marc Anthony, released by RMM Records on May 31, 1995. The album was produced by Sergio George, who was also involved with production of Anthony's debut studio album, Otra Nota. The album comprises five new compositions, three of which were written by Omar Alfanno, and four cover versions. Eight singles were released from the album, all but one of which topped the Billboard Tropical Songs chart.
Contra la Corriente is the third studio album released by American singer Marc Anthony on October 21, 1997, by RMM Records. The album was produced by Puerto Rican musician Angel "Cucco" Peña, with most of the songs written by Panamanian composer Omar Alfanno. The album was well received by critics who praised the vocals of Anthony as well as the songs. The album produced six singles, four of which peaked on the top ten on the Hot Latin Tracks chart. Promoted by a sold-out concert in Madison Square Garden, Contra la Corriente became the first salsa album to reach number one on the Top Latin Albums chart and to chart on the Billboard 200.
Jowell & Randy are a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo composed of Joel Muñoz Martínez and Randy Ortiz Acevedo. The duo have been active since the early-2000s and have become one of the most popular acts in reggaeton. They have released three studio albums, five mixtapes and twenty-three singles as of June 2017. They were also members of the short-lived group Casa de Leones alongside J King & Maximan and Guelo Star. They became the first reggaeton acts to perform in the Principality of Monaco and the first reggaeton duo to do so in Australia.
"Te Regalo Amores" (English: I'll Give You Love) is a song by Puerto Rican reggaeton duo R.K.M & Ken-Y from their second studio album The Royalty: La Realeza (2008). It was written by Jose Nieves and Kenny Vazquez, produced by Los Magnificos, Mambo Kings, and Janet Santiago and released as the second single from the album on August 26, 2008. A remix version with Ivy Queen was recorded and also included on the album. The song is a mixture of Cumbia and Merengue to create a lighter Latin pop sound.
Drama Queen is the seventh studio album by Puerto Rican reggaeton recording artist Ivy Queen. It was released on July 13, 2010 by Machete Music. The album was written by Queen with help from Rafael Castillo, Marcos Masis and others, while production was handled by Luny Tunes, Tainy and Noriega. The album features collaborations with De La Ghetto, Frank Reyes, Wisin & Yandel and Franco "El Gorila". It features a wide variety of musical styles in common with her previous album, Sentimiento, released three years earlier on a different label.
"Y Hubo Alguien" is a song by American singer Marc Anthony from his third studio album, Contra la Corriente (1997). The song was written by Omar Alfanno, with record production being handled by Ángel "Cucco" Peña. It was released as the first promotional single from the album in 1997. A salsa song which combines elements of R&B, it describes a man who has found love again after his former lover left him. The song was inspired by a fight Alfanno had with his partner and pitched the song to RMM, but was turned down. Anthony offered to record the track after Alfanno presented it to him.

Established in June 1985, the chart compiles information about the top-selling albums in genres like salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, and vallenato, which are frequently considered tropical music. The chart features only full-length albums and, like all Billboard album charts, is based on sales. The information is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan from a sample representing more than 90% of the U.S. music retail market, including not only music stores and music departments at electronics and department stores but also direct-to-consumer transactions and Internet sales. A limited number of verifiable sales at concert venues is also tabulated. Innovations by El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico was the first album to reach number-one in the chart on June 29, 1985. Up until May 21, 2005, reggaeton albums appeared on the chart. After the installation of the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, reggaeton titles could no longer appear on the Tropical Albums chart. By removing reggaeton albums from the Tropical Albums chart, it opened slots for re-entries and debuts. American bachata group Aventura claimed the top spot on the Tropical Albums chart, which marked the first time since the issue dated November 6, 2004 that a reggaeton album was not at the number-one spot. The current number-one album on the chart is Todavia Me Amas: Lo Mejor de Aventura by Aventura.
Entren Los Que Quieran is the fourth studio album by Puerto Rican hip hop band Calle 13, released on November 22, 2010. Recorded in the wake of controversial events surrounding the group, the album contains more political lyrical themes not discussed on previous Calle 13 releases. It also expands upon the musical experimentation demonstrated in the group's albums Residente o Visitante (2007) and Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo (2008). "Ella Lo Que Quiere Es Salsa" is a song by Puerto Rican-American recording artist Victor Manuelle featuring Voltio and Jowell & Randy. It was composed by himself and released on January 21, 2012, as the second single off his thirteenth studio album Busco un Pueblo. An urban version was also recorded and later released on May 28, 2012. The song became his twenty-first number one single on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart which led to Manuelle becoming the artist with the most number-one singles on the chart. It was also a minor success peaking on the Billboard Latin Songs and Billboard Latin Pop Songs charts at number 29 and 33 respectively. It received positive reviews from critics praising the music in the song. A music video was released on July 5, 2012, which was directed by Steven Tapia.
"Dándole" (English: Hitting It) is a song by Puerto Rican recording artist and record producer Gocho featuring Jowell from his debut studio album Mi Música (2011). Written and produced by a variety of composers and producers, the song was released as the lead single from the album on January 25, 2011. Two separate remixes were recorded and featured on the album after being released digitally with Ivy Queen and Omega respectively. A reggaetón version of the song is also available as the album's closing track. In the Latin market, the song was a commercial success peaking in the Top 10 of three charts in the United States while peaking at #8 in Venezuela. In total, the song performed on seven charts. It also received several awards within the Latin community.

The song was awarded the Billboard Latin Music Award in 1996 for "Hot Latin Track of the Year" in the Tropical/Salsa field and was nominated for the Tropical Song of the Year award at the 8th Annual Lo Nuestro Awards in the same year. It was a recipient of the ASCAP Latin Award in 1996. Commercially, the song peaked at number seven on the Hot Latin Songs chart and number one on the Tropical Airplay chart in the United States. It was the best-performing song of 1995 on the latter chart. The song was covered by Puerto Rican singer Ángel López as a ballad on his studio album Historias de Amor (2010).

Luis Figueroa is a four-time GRAMMY nominated singer and songwriter of Puerto Rican origin of the Latin pop and tropical music genres. He has been known for his contributions to the salsa genre, and has been recognized as a leading voice in the movement to revitalize tropical music for new audiences. He studied at the Berklee College of Music and in his teens he participated in shows such as Star Search, Sábado Gigante and American Idol.
