At the 1964 Olympics she won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m relay, in a world record time of 43.6 seconds, and a silver in the 80 m hurdles. Nationally Ciepły won the Polish titles in the 80 m hurdles and in the 100 m sprint (1960–1962).

The African island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The sprint hurdles at the Summer Olympics have been contested over a variety of distances at the multi-sport event. The men's 110 metres hurdles has been present on the Olympic athletics programme since the first edition in 1896. A men's 200 metres hurdles was also briefly held, from 1900 to 1904. The first women's sprint hurdling event was added to the programme at the 1932 Olympics in the form of the 80 metres hurdles. At the 1972 Games the women's distance was extended to the 100 metres hurdles, which is the current international standard.
Luís Filipe Vítorino Cunha is a former Portuguese sprinter. He represented his country at the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Summer Olympics as well as one outdoor and two indoor World Championships. In addition, he won two medals in the 200 metres at the Ibero-American Championships.
Tang Hon Sing is a Hong Kong former sprinter. He competed in the men's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He graduated from Beijing Sport University. He formerly held the Hong Kong record for the men's 110 metres hurdles and 400 metres hurdles. He later became an athletics coach.
