YakiniQuest is a yakiniku restaurant in the Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road in Singapore. Owned by Suguru and Tomoko Ishida, the restaurant opened in 2014.

History

The restaurant was initially founded on 48 Boat Quay in January 2014 by Suguru Ishida and his wife Tomoko, who were previously food bloggers who reviewed yakiniku restaurants, owning the YakiniQuest.com blog. [1] [2] The restaurant moved from Boat Quay to the Mandarin Gallery in January 2022. [3]

Reception

Jaime Ee of The Business Times gave the restaurant a score of 7 out of 10 in her review of the restaurant, stating, "For the price, quality and service, Yakiniquest acquits itself well, so you're assured of a minimum standard here." [4] Tan Hseuh Yun of The Straits Times gave the restaurant a positive review, and recommended the Special Omakase course. [5] The restaurant was included in The Straits Times' list of the 6 best yakiniku restaurants in Singapore in 2016. [6]

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is a five-star luxury hotel located near the mouth of the Singapore River, in the Downtown Core of the Central Area, Singapore. Precious Is the Night is a 2020 Taiwanese-Singaporean mystery thriller drama film written and directed by Wayne Peng, and starring Chuando Tan, Nayeli, Chang Tsu-lei, Lydia Lau King-man, Chen Yixin, Xiang Yun and Tay Ping Hui. The film had its world premiere at the 57th Golden Horse Awards on November 5, 2020. It was officially released in Singapore on April 29, 2021. It received 2 nominations at the 57th Golden Horse Awards, including Best Cinematography for Wayne and Best Makeup & Costume Design for Lim Sau-hoong. It was selected as the Singaporean entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. It is also available for streaming on Disney+ through Hotstar in selected regions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Death of Annie Ee</span> 2015 fatal abuse case of an intellectually disabled waitress in Singapore

Annie Ee Yu Lian was a Singaporean waitress who was abused for eight months before she died on 13 April 2015 at the age of 26. Ee's abusers were her 31-year-old childhood friend Tan Hui Zhen and Tan's 38-year-old husband Pua Hak Chuan, who were both her flatmates in the couple's four-room Woodlands flat. The physical abuse lasted for eight months from August 2014 to the date of Ee's death. The cause of death was certified to be acute fat embolism as a result of the beatings Ee received from Tan and Pua. It was also revealed that Annie Ee had an intellectual disability, which was one of the factors behind the public outcry against the couple.
