"Do it yourself" ("DIY") is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things by oneself without the direct aid of professionals or certified experts. Academic research has described DIY as behaviors where "individuals use raw and semi-raw materials and parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment ". DIY behavior can be triggered by various motivations previously categorized as marketplace motivations, and identity enhancement.

Fixer Upper is an American reality television series about home design and renovation that aired on HGTV. The show's pilot aired in May 2013, with the first full season beginning in April 2014, season two began in January 2015, season three began in December 2015, and season four began in November 2016. Love It or List It is a home design TV show currently airing on HGTV, W Network, and on OWN Canada, and is the original show in the Love it or List It franchise. The show is produced by Big Coat Productions and premiered as a primetime program on W Network on September 8, 2008, and has since aired on OWN Canada as well as HGTV in the United States. In September 2014, the show began filming in the United States in North Carolina.
Intentional Talk is an hour long and a 30-minute-long talk show shown live Monday-Friday at 4:00 ET or at 3:30 ET on MLB Network. Hosts Stephen Nelson and Kevin Millar talk about the major events in baseball. Viewers are also allowed to tweet to the hosts during the show to voice their opinions and some of the tweets are shown on a marquee at the bottom of the screen, seen in "Ask Kevin" and/or read by Stephen. Nelson was named the new co-host of IT in 2021 after former co-host Chris Rose left the show at the end of 2020 because MLB Network was unable to renew his contract.
Turf War is an American reality television series. A spinoff from the Yard Crashers series, Turf War began on March 8, 2010 on the DIY Network. Season two began on April 11, 2011.
Jordan Edward Rodgers is an American sports commentator and former college and professional American football quarterback. Rodgers signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and also played on practice and preseason squads for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins, as well as the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. He is the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Amy Devers is an American furniture designer, carpenter, television personality and design blogger. She currently is the host and design expert on A&E's Fix This Yard, the host of Victory Garden’s edibleFEAST on PBS, and a design and carpentry expert on OWN’s Home Made Simple. In the past she has hosted design oriented programs such as Freeform Furniture on DIY, Designer People on Ovation, and was a carpenter on TLC’s Trading Spaces.
Bath Crashers is a television show on the DIY Network that features host and licensed contractor Matt Muenster surprising home owners with a brand-new bathroom.
