Arjun Halappa is a former Indian hockey player and former captain of Indian hockey team.
Michael Kindo was an Indian field hockey player from the tribal belt of Jharkhand. He played at full back defender position and represented India and competed in the 1971 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1972 Summer Olympics, 1973 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1974 Asian Games, 1975 Men's Hockey World Cup. Prior to this he had competed in several local, national and regional competitions. In 1972, he became the first Adivasi sportsperson to be awarded the prestigious Arjuna Award.
The Indian women's national field hockey team represents India in international field hockey, and is governed by Hockey India. Nabhvarna are currently ranked 9th in the FIH World Rankings, and are ranked as the second best team in Asia. They have won the gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and 1982 Asian Games. They have also won the Women's Asia Cup twice, i.e. in 2004 and 2017. They also won the Asian Champions Trophy 2016 and 2023.
Pritam Rani Siwach is an Indian former field hockey player, who represented the India women's national field hockey team. She also served as the captain of the Indian women's hockey team. In 2008, she was recalled to join the team for the Olympic qualifiers in order to bring an "additional wealth of experience." After the team did not qualify for the Olympics, Siwach stated in an interview, "We are not that bad as the results would show. It was simply a case of missed chances [...] One difference between my times and now is the midfield. We had an experienced midfield with Sita Gussain at the centre. That helped us. Here, both T. H. Ranjita and Rosalind Ralte are young, just come into the team. They are potential youngsters, will only improve."
India participated in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Notable among the players was the Indian women's hockey team. The team entered the finals after defeating the Australian women's national field hockey team. They went on to receive the gold after winning the final game against the English women's hockey team. This win also marked a comeback for Mir Ranjan Negi who coached the team. Negi's involvement and the gold inspired the successful 2007 Shahrukh Khan film about women's field hockey, Chak De India.
J.M. (Joaquim) Carvalho is an Indian former field hockey player, Olympian, captain of the Indian Hockey Team, and Men's National Team coach. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Hockey India plans, directs and conducts all the activities for both men's and women's field hockey in India. It is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as the sole body responsible towards promoting the sport. It was formed after the Indian Hockey Federation was dismissed in 2008.

Rani Rampal, known mononymously as Rani, is an Indian field hockey player and coach. At the age of 15, she was the youngest player in the national team which participated in the 2010 World Cup. She has completed her schooling but was not able to get the graduate degree due to practice sessions and matches which were lined up. She plays forward on her team. She has played 212 international matches and scored 134 goals. She is currently the Captain for Indian Women's Hockey Team. She is also well known as a striker who often doubles up as mid-fielder. She has a great fascination with CWG. In 2020, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri.

He was a Gold Medallist in the South Asian Championship. He is very popular by nickname Dheeraj Pahalwan in the rural tournaments of wrestling.
Vakkaliga Swamy Vinaya is a former Indian field hockey player who played as a midfielder for the national team. Among the major tournaments he represented India at include 2005 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy and 2006 Asian Games. Vinaya's "capability in one-on-one situations" received praise from German hockey coach Valentin Altenburg. In 2010, Vinaya signed up for World Series Hockey.
Amit Rohidas is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a defender. He also served as the vice-captain of the Indian national team. He was a part of the Indian squad that won the bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Mohammed Raheel Mouseen is an Indian field hockey player from Karnataka. He plays as a mid-fielder for the Indian national team and represents Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) team in the domestic tournaments. He plays both the Hockey 5s and the Senior outdoor formats. He was part of the Indian Hockey5s team which finished fifth at the World Cup at Muscat, Oman from 24 January 2024.
Sunelita Toppo is an Indian women's field hockey player from Odisha. She plays as a forward. She made her senior India debut at the FIH pro-league against China in Bhubaneswar on 3 February 2024. She is retained in the Senior team announced on 2 May 2024, for the Belgium and England leg of the FIH pro-hockey league.
