Yassin El-Azzouzi (born 13 January 1983) is a French-Moroccan former professional footballer who played as a striker. [1]

Career

El-Azzouzi scored 8 goals in 17 Ligue 2 matches for SC Bastia in the 2010–11 campaign. [2]

After making few appearances in the first half of the 2012–13 season under coach Frédéric Hantz at Bastia, he was linked with Chamois Niortais [2] with media reporting him having passed medical examination at the club. [3] However, Niort failed to agree terms over a contract with El-Azzouzi. [4] He decided to end his career at the age of 30 in summer 2013. [5]

After finishing as runners-up in the Championnat National in the 2011–12 campaign, the team competed in Ligue 2, the second tier of the French football pyramid. The promotion meant a return to professional status for the club, which was lost following relegation to the Championnat de France amateur three years earlier.

The 2021–22 season was the 97th season in the existence of Chamois Niortais F.C. and the club's eighth consecutive season in the second division of French football. The team was excluded from Coupe de France this season.

The 2022–23 Ligue 2, commonly known as 2022–23 Ligue 2 BKT for sponsorship reasons, was the 84th season of Ligue 2. It began on 30 July 2022 and ended on 5 June 2023. The league had a break from 12 November to 27 December due to the FIFA World Cup. Two clubs were to be promoted to Ligue 1 at the end of the season as the number of clubs in Ligue 1 was set to be reduced from 20 to 18 for the 2023–24 season. As a result, there were no play-offs held after the end of the regular season.
